I am running into an issue with my hosted feature layer and associated views. Upon overwriting and running into an issue where the data was broken, I decided to publish a new layer and swap the source for the views. Now, when I look at both hosted feature layer item details, the views I swapped are showing up on both under "Other Views".
This makes it very difficult, and frustrating, to know where the views are sourcing from but more importantly, it's not giving me the right option to swap source and I also can't even delete the hosted feature layer I would like to delete, since there are dependent views.
Is this a bug? How else should I approach this issue and troubleshoot?
Hey there @Tiff-Maps, I've hit exactly the same problem using the Swap Source option on a hosted feature layer view. It's disappointing that this has clearly been a problem for a couple of years now and yet ESRI recently promoted the Swap Source function (see: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-online/data-management/swapping-layers-a-great-way-...) without mentioning such a fundamental problem with it!
I'm reaching out in the hope that you've maybe found a workaround to this problem in the intervening years? (fingers crossed...)
