Possible to embed non-public ArcGIS Online Web Map?

I have web map in ArcGIS Online that is not shared with public, only certain groups.  I need to embed this map with URL parameters in a web page that only internal staff can access.  from the help doc it seems that the web map must be publicly shared.

https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/reference/embed-map-parameters.htm

Is there a workaround to allow this functionality without sharing the map with public?

I think your only options might be to either create a group for internal staff and share the map with that group, or embed the map using an iFrame instead (this may or may not work but you can try; also not best practice).

According to the docs, it seems like the web map has to be shared with public, and in my tests I've found this to be true:

https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/share-maps/embed-maps-groups.htm

(see items #2 and #3 in the above link)

If I cannot embed a web map that is not shared with public, is there a work-around to accomplish this?
