Optimize Layer Drawing Impacting Popups
Hi ESRI Community,
We have a large layer with ~3000 features as the only layer we use in our Zone Lookup Instant App for our public facing website. We initially published this layer from ArcPro 2.9, but since upgraded to 3.4 and overwrote the layer as we typically did when needing to make a change to the data. Additionally, we have some arcade configured that returns specific popups for specific attributes in this layer/instant app.
After our first overwrite following the November 2024 AGOL update and our upgrade to 3.4, the zone lookup instant app that references this layer started returning duplicate/incorrect popups. We believe the issue to be the Optimize Layer Drawing feature that is automatically turned on for large datasets. This feature is causing our app to return invalid popups due to the jagged and incorrect polygons it's generating.
Whenever we turn off layer optimization, our app starts returning valid popups, but it takes so long to generate that the search times out and tells our customers they aren't in our serviceable area when they should be. Any ideas as to if this is the actual issue, or what we can do to solve it? This app is used daily by our company and its members, so any help would be appreciated. Additionally, this was not an issue until after the AGOL update and our upgrade to 3.4. Thank you for any insight!
