How is ist possible to hide automatically and simply the address bar from a mobile browser (Android / iOS) when I call an ArcGIS Online URL Map? For example: http://bit.ly/JaNJ6L >> Address bar is taking 10% from the screen... full screen should appear after loading the map. Thx.

On my iPhone, the address bar is automatically hidden. I don't recall it always did that. Perhaps it's related to the OS of the device? You might try posting in the iOS or Android forums.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike. Thank you for your answer. On Android (2.3.5 Samsung Galaxy S+) the address bar does not hide automatically... (see PrintScrn). It's seems that it's an OS issue for ArcGIS Online. May I ask you to test on Android Device? I tested some "Redirect HTML" with Javascript but without success and think, the easiest thing would be to add that funcionality into ArGIS Online for Android. Thank you for your help. Chris

You are correct, we don't hide the address bar for Android. Apparently, it's a little harder to do this consistently across devices and OS versions as compared to iOS, which we now do. I'll write it up as an enhancement request, however.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike. Many Thx for your "enhancement request". I tried to raise the address bar following that good article: http://24ways.org/2011/raising-the-bar-on-mobile ... Hide the address bar on Android is working (see demo): http://www.chrisantem.ch/temp/demo.htm ... but I can´t integrate ArcGIS Online URL ... (I´m not an expert in Javascript, only an ESRI Switzerland Consultant ;-). Any Tips? Have a nice day, Chris

Sorry, I'm not a coder...but I would imagine the code would have to be in our app and couldn't be controlled externally.
