All,
In portal on a web mapping application I was asked to add the capability of selecting features based on a selected polygon. To accomplish this I add the analysis widget with the find existing locations function. I have gotten my layers picked and the expression written. The trouble is with the save results in perimeter. I tried putting in a network path it did not work. I have tried asking the chat bot on technical support it said to use the flowing format: {"layerId": "<layer_id>", "tableName": "<table_name>"}. I tried using the answer verbatim and it still said it was not a valid entry. What do I need to put in the save results in parameter to get it to run? also is there a way to hard code or set to a defult value that always populated with the same value? The people who are going to be using this tool are not the ones for technical jargon and would get annoyed at the doing it every time.
portal 10.6.1
Thanks.

If you're just looking to get a count or some summary statistics about the meters within a certain distance, you could try the Summarize Nearby tool.
I'm not confident though that if the folder control isn't working for one tool, it will work in another.
If it continues to cause issues, I would recommend updating your portal or switching to ArcGIS Online.
Hi @Laura_m_Conner,
The Save Results in parameter should be looking for a folder from your portal.
Can you share a screenshot of what your interface looks like?
I will look in to it and get back with you once I have time.
This is the panel looks like. The drop down arrow dose not work for save result in so t tried to enter a folder name and got the warning.
@Laura_m_Conner are you using the Analysis widget from Web AppBuilder?
Looks like you are using portal edition. What version of portal are you working on?
I am using portal for ArcGIS 10.6.1 (Windows)
Just to remind that the "Save result in" is a dropdown menu listing all the existing folders in your account. You can not name a new folder there.
Thanks for confirming @Laura_m_Conner
Just a remind that the "Save result in" is a dropdown menu listing all the existing folders in your account. You can not name a new folder there. That's why you got the warning when you entering a folder name.
Also, we have stop maintenance for 10.6.1 which means we will deliver hot fix anymore for old version even a bug is confirmed. We suggest you to upgrade to 11.0 or newer if possible.
Thanks!
The arrow next to it doesn't work. I get no dropdown despite knowing there are folders. The original aim of adding this tool to an app was at be able to select meters ( a point feature class) with in a certain area to get an idea of how many customers are effected by an event. Is there another tool in portal that can accomplish this or would I have to use arc GIS online to get the latest version of find existing locations?
Thanks in advance
