I am trying to add data from ArcGIS Online from ArcMap and keep getting an error message saying Unable to connect to ArcGIS Online. I am, however, able to sign into my account from any browser I open with no problems whatsoever. I'm not sure what is happening here. I even uninstalled Mcafee.

In addition to Scott's suggestion, it's probably worthwhile to check the ArcGIS Online connection utility test for any helpful errors. To do so:
1. With ArcMap open, right-click the little globe icon in the system tray of your computer:
2. Select "Run Connection Test." Any failures there? Hopefully that can clarify what's causing the error.

I did run the Connection Test and everything passed.
I restarted the computer after having uninstalling Mcafee and that seemed to do the trick here.
Perhaps it was a firewall notion.
