Enable Sync, keeps giving me a "Save wasn't successful. Try Again Later"

I'm trying to Enable Sync so my layer I create will show up in the Field Maps app so data can be collected. When I try to  Enable Sync and save it keeps giving me a "Save wasn't successful. Try Again Later" error message. However, it does not give me that error if I just Enable Editing.

Any ideas?

If the above from Alexa doesn't help, have you got any layer views for this layer? I found this bug is causing my error BUG-000140593 for ArcGIS Online (esri.com)

Like many errors in ArcGIS, they will not explain why, and you will not find solution. It's just a commercial. Pay your license and use free softs.

Maybe you've already solved this by now, but check if any of your fields are the following types:

  • 64-bit object IDs
  • Big integer
  • Date only
  • Time only
  • Timestamp offset

I had a Date only field that was causing the same error. I changed it to a date field instead and it saved no problem. I was able to connect it to field maps. I found this solution on this page: Manage hosted feature layer editing—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation.

Hope this helps!

Yes! You are a life saver! I added a new layer and a field was "Date Only" and that was preventing me from saving with "Enable Sync." Once I deleted that I could save.

Thank you @AlexaKennel

That has got to be one of the lamest error messages ever concocted by the human mind. How is trying again later supposed to solve somebody's problem?
