Service layer won't return geometry

I have a dynamic map service that is behaving very strangely.  I have 9 layers in the service, and I want to be able to select one of them on the map.  I've done this many times before, but this service layer won't work.  The problem is that the query task is not returning any geometry.  When I use the REST API webpage for the query task for that layer, I get attributes returned, but no geometry.  I've wiped out the service, deleted all the cached images (from a previous attempt at caching the service), and recreated the service, to no avail.  I'm using Server 10, Service Pack 2.  Please help!

"SHAPE" column checked in mxd?

As you are not able to receive geometry from the REST endpoint itself, I think you would get better answers and response on http://forums.arcgis.com/forums/11-ArcGIS-Server-REST-API

Checking the Shape column indeed resolved the issue.  Thanks!
