Measurment Widget - Javascript API

I am somewhat new to programming/js api.  We have a custom js application that uses a measurement tool for area and line.  I would like to change this to the measurement tool that labels the dimensions  as you measure.  The current one does not do this, however i have seen it.  What do i need to do in order to obtain this measurement tool????
