Positions are Now Restricted to Surveyed Area

We are excited to test out the new functionality "Positions are Now Restricted to Surveyed Area" mentioned in the ArcGIS IPS Dec Update (https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-ips/indoor-gis/whats-new-in-arcgis-ips-december-202...)

Is this update applied to legacy surveys automatically in the Native app? or would we need to rerun the Generate Indoor Positioning File tool? or resurvey?

Hello Kai,

Thanks for your interest and your question. Here is the answer:

"Positions are Now Restricted to Surveyed (IPS) Area" functionality is a part of ArcGIS Maps SDK 200.0, which was released in Dec 2022. IPS Setup 1.3 (to be released in Feb 2023) is built using 100.15.1 version of SDK. In another words, to test this new functionality you need a custom built app with SDK 200.0 as unfortunately you cannot test it using our native app (IPS Setup) yet.

There is no need to resurvey your facility or to rerun Generate Indoor Positioning File tool. As long as the mobile app is built using the latest ArcGIS Maps SDK 200.0, your blue dot will only appear in surveyed areas.
