Script/Automate "Copy to Workbook"

A lot of Insights functionality is limited for certain data sources (e.g. registered feature layers, rest services, etc.) unless you "Copy to Workbook".  I am looking to automate this so that my workbooks are kept up to date.  We use a lot of registered data layers and MANY widgets return, "not supported" (see attached example) unless I "Copy to Workbook".  This is problematic for complex workbooks.  Since there is no "Overwrite" option I have to REDO all my work on every data update.  Is there any way to script this copying to workbook so my workbooks are always up to date?
