Within the data download interface in HUB, there are several filtering options along the left hand panel.

It would be great to be able to disable one or more of these filter types when they are irrelevant or blank.

If you are only hosting a few datasets and they are all 'feature layers' -  the 'Content Type' filters on the left still displays with all different types of maps and app options that are not even available. This confuses the user and should at least be blank if these content types are not available in the download list.

@yrpEHthanks for submitting your idea. Can you clarify what you mean by data download filter? Do you have a link to an example that you consider confusing?

The "Content Type" filter is found on the search page, not within the download interface. When you're viewing a content view, you can filter a map and/or table with specific attribute values, and then download the filtered data.

Yes - this is confusing as there are several data download filtering areas.

I am referring to the search page with the content list.

We have 4 datasets available to download. All feature layers.

Yet there is still a 'Content Type' filter on the left hand page with options to select Hub Site Applications, Hub pages, and web experiences even though we do not have any of those available in our data download content list.

If you select these it says 'no results here yet'. It is confusing to the user because none of these content types are actually available and therefore the user may not even know what a 'hub page' is and why it would be displaying in relation to our 4 available datasets.

I agree that this is confusing for users who might enter into this portion of the site and think that there is nothing there at all when really the items are hiding in one of the other item types and the user doesn't realize it. It seems something like this could be dynamically set to display or not display based on what items are placed into the hub site or open data groups?
