ArcGIS Hub is set to receive two significant updates in the upcoming weeks: workspaces and enhanced events.
Although details about these releases have been shared before, we are excited to provide a sneak peek into what to anticipate with these updates, including the expected timeline and opportunities for feedback.
Workspaces in ArcGIS Hub will become the new default method for editing and managing items within the product soon. This change will offer a substantial enhancement to the current user experience, introducing a range of benefits such as improved navigation, a more user-centric view of Hub, enhanced discoverability of new features, and more.
We introduced workspaces as an opt-in beta experience in June 2024 and received valuable feedback from customers, enabling us to incorporate updates and prepare it for the general availability (GA) release in June 2025.
With the GA launch, all Hub customers will be automatically enrolled in the workspaces experience, with an option to opt back to the classic experience for a limited period. Importantly, this update will not impact any of your existing work within Hub.
Your Hub sites, pages, and other content items will remain unaffected, preserving all your customizations and established workflows. While you will observe significant changes in the product such as configuring the search experience, the process of building a Hub site i.e. layout editor, will remain consistent.

Events play a crucial role in ArcGIS Hub Premium, allowing customers to organize events to enhance collaboration and engagement with their stakeholders. In response to feedback from our Hub Premium users, we have been diligently working on improving the current events system. Soon, we will be introducing enhanced events in Hub, coinciding with the general availability release of workspaces.
The enhanced events management system will maintain all existing features while introducing a more efficient setup and management process. Users will have the flexibility to share events publicly or privately with specific groups. Moreover, they can create events tailored to sites, pages, initiatives, or projects to facilitate more focused engagement strategies. With this enhanced system, users can track event performance and automatically update attendees on any event-related information.
Although customers are not required to take any action to transition to the enhanced events system, it is recommended that they manually migrate any events they have previously created in the current system to the new one.
