Hello,
I have an idea to acquire Arcgis for Sharepoint, but before that, I would like to have some information. I have seen that it is possible to geolocate lists and I would like to know if it is possible to publish this list on the Arcgis Enterprise portal after geolocation. I also had a question about updates, whether if an update is made on the Sharepoint side, is it also updated on the corresponding layer on the Arcgis Enterprise portal?
Thank you,
You should be able to publish the Sharepoint list after exporting it to CSV or Excel format.
Currently, when you update on the SharePoint side, the Portal will not get updated. You will need to create a flow in Power Automate to update the Portal item whenever the SharePoint list gets updated.
Let me know if you need any assisatance with creating the Power Automate flow?
Thanks,
Raaj
My wish is to avoid the multiplication of data therefore I prefer that all data stays on Sharepoint.
According to your message I would need Power Automate to synchronize the updates between my Sharepoint lists and my portal item. Do you have any documentation on geocoding a list in Sharepoint, publishing a Sharepoint item in Arcgis Entreprise and setting up Power Automate?
Thank you!
@AdminSig_VBB - Please follow the instructions provided in the blog (https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-for-sharepoint-blog/geocode-sharepoint-lists-using-power-automa...) posted on Esri Community to Geocode Sharepoint lists.
Regarding updating ArcGIS feature layer when new items are added to a Sharepoint list or when updates are made to existing items, please use the steps below in Power Automate,
1. Create a new flow - use the "automated flow" as the option
2. Choose the action"When an item is created or modified
3. Populate the site address of the Sharepoint site where the list resides
4. Enter or populate the list name using the drop-down
5. Add the action from "ArcGIS" connector for "Update a record in a feature layer"
6. In the ArcGIS action, populate the fields "Layers in", "Feature layer", "Unique ID field", "ID". Here's an example
7. Run the "Flow checker" to validate the flow
8. Save and Run the flow
Anytime the list specified in the above flow is updated, the feature layer will automatically get updated.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for your answer that will help me. Last question, when setting up "update a record in feature layer" I can only connect to my Arcgis Online. Is it possible to connect to my Arcgis Enterprise ?
Thanks
@AdminSig_VBB - Currently the Power Automate ArcGIS connectors only work with ArcGIS Online, but we are in the process of adding connectors for ArcGIS Enterprise. I will keep you posted.
Given ArcGIS Insight allow direct connection to Sharepoint list (https://doc.arcgis.com/en/insights/latest/get-started/create-sharepoint-connection.htm)
Can esri implement a portal item type similar to this as a standard item instead of making this only available within ArcGIS Insight only?
@EddieFung1 - Can you please post this question in the in the ArcGIS Online community?
