Hi,

I tried to use a field parameter instead of a measure to switch between KPIs to show in the ArcGIS for Power BI visual. It didn't work and according to an ESRI consultant it isn't supported yet.

It would be great if the field parameters would be supported in the future!

Thanks

Hi @TanjaHH,

Could you please provide more details on you idea? What does "Filed parameter" mean? A screenshot or video with the use case you are working on will be helpful for us to understand. Thank you!

Hi @NaZhang_Esri ,

with Field Parameters in PowerBI, I can switch between measures or dimensions in a slicer.
Field Parameters (Microsoft)

So, while in a normal PowerBI slicer I can e.g. switch between values "Germany", "USA", "UK"..., with field parameters I can switch between the dimension I want to evaluate, e.g. "Countries", "States", "Cities"...

In my use case, we have three core KPIs that are calculated in three different measures. For many (non-ESRI) visuals we use a slicer with the respective field parameters to let users decide which KPI they want to see in e.g. a line chart.

In the ArcGis for PowerBI visual, I currently put one measure in the "color" bucket and have data points in the map that are colored by this measure. But if I want to switch between measures, I need to build a second visual. I cannot use my field parameters in the data buckets of the visual.

I hope this made it clearer 🙂
