We have some layers in groups in the web map.

When I go to add that in Excel I cannot expand to add these layers

How can I get into groups?

Welcome @DougBrowning!

Thanks again for posting your question. It is a good one. From the first screenshot, is this taken from Map Viewer? If so, I would need to understand how this was created. Did you group layer items or ?

In screenshot two, is this taken from ArcGIS for Excel? If so, there are 2 types of layers that are included in a web map - feature and imagery layers. If you are trying to expand imagery layers, this is expected. And when you say, you are trying to expand layers, this is different than 'clicking' the + sign to add attribute table.

First image is map viewer yes.  It does that when you bring in the entire service at once on its own.

Second image I think I get no + symbol if the source is a map.  If there are no groups maps work to add..  Looks like you are adding form a feature service?

In short, @DougBrowning We will not be able to expand group layers. For example, this layer has groups and I am at Add layer step -

Once I have added the layer, now in my TOC, I can expand -

This is with the assumption you are referring to sub group/layers and not 'groups' in your organization like this -

Try this with a map that has a group and you will see it.
