Currently for maps that are meant to cover a large geographic extent, field users requiring multiple offline areas can either:
It would be helpful to include a search bar in the Add Offline Area dialog box that can search both the world geocoding service and layers/fields as defined by the web map owner in the Application Settings. This would allow field users to more independently create their own offline areas on short notice without having to reply on the map owner.
Agreed, this is something that is severely lacking for user-created offline areas. We have toyed around with automating the creation of bookmarks based on the centroids of some of our work units, but we would have to implement that for every Field Maps map and then also be rather careful about it.
Being how search on fields and location already exists; it seems like this should be an easy ask of the dev team.

Our team has received requests from multiple clients for this functionality, would love to see it in an upcoming release.
In Collector, there was a "Layer Manager" that allowed selective viewing of features from certain layers like an offline project area layer. Controlling the visible feature layers has been another way to for our users to quickly "search" when creating offline areas. Maybe you would consider bringing this back to Field Maps?
Dear community, I find it incredible that no one has yet proposed adding a search function to easily locate a specific area or region within the map. It seems like this feature is only designed for small maps. However, when dealing with large maps with many properties scattered throughout the country, it's unfeasible to manually search for areas or sectors instead of using a known code or name to quickly reach it. This tool or feature is highly necessary as our clients are constantly complaining about its absence.
This would be really great, or being able to define your own areas by uploading/publishing a polygon dataset.
In my previous job I helped manage data for two of the largest counties in NM, but getting the areas downloaded right with the given map at the time was difficult.
This would be a great addition. We as well use Field Maps for general point, line, and polygon collection for an entire state. I have been adding a bright orange box around the area of interest which is also labeled with the project name and project number but the user must pan and zoom to the area when downloading a map for offline use. Having a search function would make it much easier to pull up the area quickly to download an offline map.
In order for this to be a reality, we need more 'Kudos'. ¿?
Our team are missing the ability to add a bookmark/my places in the field maps app failing adding a search function when creating an offline area. It is extremely hard to create an offline area if you can't find it. Please add this functionality back in. It was essential functionality that was available in the Collector app and seems to have been left off Field Maps
The search function is available offline. The documentation might not be the best. Open your webmap settings, ensure Offline mode is enabled, scroll down to Application settings > click Enable Search> select layers and any specific fields you would like to search, by table or address. Save. One note I found that Both "Use in ArcGIS Collector" and "Use in Field Maps" needed to be checked in for the offline search to work properly.
