How to filter web map features using query widget results

Greetings,

I am wondering if it is possible to filter the features on a web map from the results of a query widget. The query widget in the map below works as expected, but I cannot figure out how, or if, it is possible to filter the results on the map. Is this possible? What would be the steps to take to achieve this? I have tried few options, but have not had any success.

Have you tried this using the filter widget? I had a third party point the filter widget out because it will just show those in the map based on the configuration so I use that more often than the query widget.
