ExB edit widget and related records not saving

Seeking some assistance.

I have set up a 1 to many relationship between a polygon layer and an "Action" table and are utilising smart forms in the new Web Map to allow users to add new polygons and related actions in the table.

The layers are hosted in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2 and have been published through Pro. Geometry and table editing is enabled. This web map is also added to a  very simple ExB project, but the behaviour (and error) I'm describing below is the same

My workflow is a follows:

- In the Web Map (or ExB), select the polygon layer and open the edit tool

- digitize a new polygon, complete the field attribution and save this record

- Select the polygon again, which reopens the smart form and now there's the option to add a related record

- The edit form for the related record opens fine, the parent GUID is carried over and I can edit attributes

- When I select "create" , the button flashes but nothing happens and the record is not committed. There's no way to move on form this step other than backing out and discarding the edit

I can add related records in Pro after this data is published so I'm thinking that the data structure and relationships are sound. I don't have any of these fields set to mandatory.

Hi @ChrisH2 , if you try doing the exact same editing steps directly within Map Viewer using the Edit widget there, are you observing the same issue?

Yes @AlixVezina it’s the same behaviour in the map viewer

@ChrisH2 Are you able to share your published map and data with us so we can take a look? You can forward the credentials to avezina@esri.com.

If that is not possible, the best way to address this issue will be to Contact Esri Technical Support so they can help troubleshoot it. Thank you!

I'd be curious to see if this issue gets resolved as well. We are currently in the process of upgrading to 11.2 in hopes of being able to use the Edit widgets with related records.

@ClangDevGuy Editing related records should work as expected in 11.2, please let us know if you also encounter any issues.

We are currently investigating the issue @ChrisH2 has encountered and chances are you will not encounter it with your own data.

Hey @AlixVezina,

I do have some good news/bad news with the 11.2 ExB version.

Good News: The related record editing is working nicely so far and I was able to add/update/delete related records.

Bad News: Is that we use a Feature Info widget to show related records through the Data Actions and that is now broken when using the GlobalIDs and a Related GUID as a the relationship due to the query statement changing in the 11.2 ExB version. It seems like it was coded with the intend of the AGOL GlobalIDs in mind, and not the Portal GlobalIDs. See: https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/how-to-remove-curly-braces-from-the-globalids-in-a-tex...

Also, I added a comment in this thread that seems to be an issue across other platforms as well: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-questions/globalid-inconsistent-display/td-p/291405/page/2

Hi @ClangDevGuy ,

Thanks for sharing the information. We have not yet received similar feedback regarding FeatureInfo widget before.
Are you able to share your data or reproducible ExB app so we can have a further investigation to decide whether it is a bug or limitation? You may send me through private message if your data is not public accessible.
Thanks,
Wei
