Allow pages in the same project to have the same name section name.
For this project https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/c6fde5fd914d407aad18c07cc7725d6a/
I had to create separate ExB for each tick because I couldn't have a distribution section for each tick. Some of the pathogens repeat across ticks too - so even if we did 'Specific Tick - Distribution' I'd have to do 'Specific Tick Really Long Pathogen Name' which makes formatting menus harder.
Having more ExB's mean's managing more portal items and it makes it hard to make minor tweaks in header and footer, now I make those 5 times.
Screen captures of ExB structure I used to make this work below.
You can reuse page and section names. You just need to add spaces to the names.
Hi Jeff - thanks for the reply. I've used that as a quick work around, but it would be nice to have this issue fixed. At some point it will start to matter how many spaces I have before and after a section name.
I ran into this problem too, specifically regarding naming Views and using the Views Navigation widget. It seems to me that a relatively simple solution would be to give Section Views a separate "Label Name" property that does not have to be unique across the application.
The workaround using extra spaces in the View names is smart, but only a short term solution. Creating a project that someone else might one day inherit the maintenance of which uses a practically invisible workaround feels kind of like a mean trick to pull.
This would be really helpful and the idea of labels as above sounds like a good solution to this issue. Even though views are in different pages in Experience Builder you cannot name them the same title which seems odd to me. It would be helpful if we had this ability to do this.
I have an experience builder with sections and views which follows the following format:
Pages - AreaType1 / AreaType 2 / AreaType 3 etc
Views - within each AreaType page are Theme1 / Theme2 / Theme3 / Theme4 etc
At this point, AreaType1+Theme1 and AreaType2+Theme1 throws up a duplication error for 'Theme1' etc.
It confuses user experience having to title views differently for each page and the spacing workaround is good for now but it is just that, a workaround, and at a certain point having 3+ spaces around view titles makes it start looking odd and inconsistent.
