Every summer I have to upgrade our software to latest release because we are a nonprofit with a term license. I can upgrade and license our software with the next years license before the expiration date of the previous license but I don't see a way to update the licenses of the geodatabases on our server until after their license expires. These are the directions I use every year to update the geodatabase's licenses but I would like to be able to do this preemptively before the current license expires so there's no interruption in our services. Much the same way I do for our software before the license expires. Is this possible?

If you are not using Workgroup licenses and SQL Server Express, you can look at this GP tool: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/data-management/update-enterprise-geodatabas...
I think that you can also get to this if you right click the .sde connection and look at the properties.
