Portal User Index out of sync

Recently upgraded to 11.4 and our Portal index for users is out of sync.  The group and item indexes are fine.

1. Tried rebooting

2. Tried reindexing and reconfiguring

Any ideas?? all suggestions are welcome!!

Error reindexing 'USER_MODE'. java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.Exception: The server at 'https://xyzxyz.xyzxy.NET:7443/arcgis/sharing/rest/config/indexer/reindex' returned an error. Error running reindex operation. ["java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke \"com.esri.gw.data.GWUser.getUsername()\" because \"<local4>\" is null"].

Do the logs (debug) give any more detail.  I'd have a look at that GWUser and maybe delete them out if possible.

Running into this issue as well. Recently upgraded to 11.4 and noticed the index difference. Index has our count off by one. Running reindex with user mode does not appear to index anything. Portal log has no information about trying to run the index.

Changed log level to debug. received an error. When deleting it states the index does not exist, when creating it states the index already exists.

Hi @Dan_Brumm 

Before you upgraded did you have the Living Atlas enabled and was your environment upgraded with the Living Atlas disabled or enabled?

Can you try this workflow to see if it works:

Enable Living Atlas on Portal -> Organization -> Settings -> Living Atlas

After enabling Living Atlas on the bottom click the Configure content.

Then check your indexes again and reindex if needed.
