Hi,

We have Base ArcGIS Enterprise Environment version 10.9.1. We want to take Webgisdr backup of the ArcGIS environment on Azure Blob.

I have prepared the webgisdr.properties file for the same.

AYUSHYADAV_0-1658141085476.png

In this, I have defined the AZURE_BLOB_BACKUP_NAME as per our convenience but it always creates the backup with the default folder structure/path i.e webgisdr-backup/10-9-1/full/July-18-2022-5-04-14-PM-PDT-FULL

I wanted to know is there any way we can customize the AZURE_BLOB_BACKUP_NAME variable in the webgisdr.properties file so that the backups can create as our defined folder path which will be easy to manage.

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Ayush

As is indicated in the webgisdr.properties template file, the AZURE_BLOB_BACKUP_NAME is only effective for the restore of an existing WebGISDR backup that is stored in the blob. The recommendation is to use separate blobs for all deployments so that an administrator can identify which blob is related to which deployment for backup/restore purposes. If appending an object prefix would be useful to your organization I could see the motivation for an enhancement request, but the existing logic requires the use of the default path that you've included in your description.

Hi @ChristopherPawlyszyn ,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, appending a prefix will definitely be useful to my organization as it will be easy to manage all the webgisdr backups for all the environments (development, staging, and production) on a single blob.

It will definitely help us if you will mark this as an enhancement.
