Hi

We would like to add an additional ArcGIS Web Adaptor to a site that already has a web adaptor installed. The existing web adaptor is 10.6.1 and the new one (pointing to another arcgis server) will be version 10.8. Could it cause a conflict or can they co-exist? Is the library used backwards compatible?

Thanks,

Morten

Hi Morten,

You can have different versions of the web adaptor installed on a single server.

Thanks for confirming that Jake Skinner‌.

Our IT department occasionally install the web adaptor without using the installer. Do you know if the folder "ESRI.ArcGIS.WebAdaptor" located in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL is the same for all versions? Or does it need to be the latest version to work? Thanks for your help.

Can you describe what you mean by "installing the web adaptor without using the installer"? The supported way of installing the Web Adaptor is documented in the install guide for the Web Adaptor. Any other way is not tested and unsupported.
