A quick fix is to convert to graphics and move the features.
This is only a temporary solution and if you need to edit it in the future you'd need a better fix.
You can also play around with the scale or line thickness and other features in the symbology tab...I have had a similar issue when drawing thrust fault lines where the thrusts symbols (a solid triangle on a line) detatch a look silly.
