Hello,

I am trying to load GPS points of sampling sites on a map using the World_Imagery base map and some layers made by a co-worker. The GPS points were marked in hddd.ddddd WGS 1984 and the layers are in NAD_1983_Lambert_Conformal_Conic. After adding the data and navigating to the display x y data, neither projection puts the points in the correct location. It displays one point in either Northern California or Africa, when it should be 18 points on or in the Columbia River.

What I am doing wrong?

Example lat/lon:
lat lon
46.1684000000 -123.0808166670
46.1902333333 -123.1246500000
46.1707222222 -123.0730333330
46.0580333333 -122.8784500000

Do you have a spreadsheet with those La/Longs, or how are you trying to import them?

Try this, make a point layer out of your cvs and then reproject this layer, using this tool, to fit all your other layers.

Once you have your GPS layer reprojected you might need to open a new mxd and add all the layers.
