ArcGIS Enterprise Sites: Is there a way to directly edit the HTML of a Site?

Is there a way to directly edit the HTML-code of a Site to adapt it?

I want to make the download button disappear, as I do not offer a download via the official way. I will provide download links via the item description.  If there is no download option, the download button is grayed out but still visible. I want to make it disappear completely, to avoid confusing the user.

Presumably you could hop onto the machine hosting Portal and edit the code in some way - just be sure to make backups.

That is what I wanted to try. However, I am not able to find the respective default page, which is used to create the pages for the different items. Do you have an idea where to find that?
