Hello All,

Just wondering if there is a way to create a user defined query on the dashboard?

For example, input name to search in list of records.

Respectfully,

Eric

Unfortunately, no. Having a user-defined "starts with" or "contains" filter for text entry would be amazing. Go and upvote @JamieLambert's idea for adding this feature!

The closest you can get is a Feature-based Category Selector, then raise the maximum categories to be larger than the number of rows in the layer. The selector does let you search for items based on any field added to the category template.

See below a selector with two fields in the template, a partial text search and matching items highlighted.

A Category Selector (or any other kind) can be added to a sidebar or header container. You can see the docs here. When you add a Category Selector, make sure you set it to Features, not grouped values.
