I know this was not possible in the past. Is it now? I am getting errors about tile being unavailable at different levels.

If transferring a tile package manually the only work around?

Thanks!

Hi Doug,

It's possible to use tiled layers in offline.  You must using at least ArcGIS Server 10.2.2 and have the option 'Allow clients to export cache tiles' enabled.

Hi Jake,

Thanks for this. We are not using server, only ArcGIS Online. Do you know if this functionality exists for ArcGIS Online hosted Tile Packages?

Thanks

Yes, you can take hosted tiled services offline as well.  To create the tiled service, go to the Tile Package and you will have a PUBLISH option.  This will create the tiled service.  You can then enable this for offline use as well:

Jake,

We have a hosted tile layer (State Plane coordinate system) and I don't even see the 'enable offline option' for it. I am trying this in March 2016 after the leap day AGOL update.
