Collector App Update

The Collector app has been updated on iOS and Android.

Whats new?
-Open maps by signing in using your ArcGIS Online account
-In-app search for your maps
-More sample maps under the Try Collector

Are there any plans in the works for allowing a user using the collector app to connect directly to maps published via an in house ArcGIS Server as opposed to ArcGIS online subscriptions?

Currently the Collector apps will be supporting AGOL subscription accounts or Portal for ArcGIS accounts. Portal for ArcGIS would be your internal solution.

Can you collect line and polygon features?

After you collect features can you export these features as a shapefile or into a geodatabase?

The current version in the app store and play store today supports editing and collecting on a point feature service. The next release will have support for lines and polygons. The features are synced back with your ArcGIS Server feature service or Hosted feature service. We are working on an disconnected solution which will be in a future release but the next update will have tablet support, lines and polygon support and a few other enhancements.

Yes, the app works with AGOL Subscription accounts and Portal for ArcGIS accounts.
