How to import heightmap and texture data and where from?

Hi everyone,

I am very new to CityEngine and I am trying to do some visual analysis of a part of Newcastle for my dissertation. However, I cannot figure out how to import height data to create a terrain- the height dataset I currently have is a 5 metre DTM downloaded from DigiMap. I cannot figure out how to copy this to my workspace.

Am I using the wrong kind of data?

If so, what do I need to download and where from?

Your approach with the 5m DTM seems to be feasible.
