Drape trees onto terrain within shape

Hi

I have a shape of a forest which i would like to fill with (LumenRT) trees, and have the trees draped onto the surface of a terrain.

I can drape the shape onto the terrain but it doesn't sit nicely, resulting in some floating trees.

So... Is there a way to say fill this shape with trees and then drape them onto the terrain?

Any help would be great

Cheers

Corey

Hey Corey,

Aligning shapes to a terrain only works based on the shape's vertices (points). Therefore if you need more resolution, you need to subdivide the shape. You do this best by splitting the shape first in CGA into tiles, then convert the model into tiles, then project that shape down onto the terrain for your tree distribution.

OK?

Cheers!

Hi Matthias - thanks for your reply!

I have seen that mentioned in some other posts. I'll give that a go and report back. FYI i am using the LumenRT plants and ecosystem CGA
