Occasionally also bumping to this and instead of "hacking" or "lacking" this, it would be useful IF this could optionally be activated from the Portal's SAML (and in the future from oAuth) settings. E.g. like IF Portal SAML settings define to use the SAML (e.g. AD) roles for SAML users (enterprise) AND user has predefined "ArcGIS role" e.g. "publisher" set in the IdP / SAML response, Portal would assign this ArcGIS role to the user automatically. Yes, there is "challenge" with downgrading as in worst case there should be some actions needed for the users contents too - but this could be easily handled or restricted to allow downgrading only for "similar" roles (e.g. publisher vs. editor). In many cases it's also acceptable to place the content to a predefined folder with subfolder of the user nameid.

Hi, in that case I assume you could contact direct Esri and for example Bernd Gruber from the former indoo.rs organization. BR, -Tom

Hi, at least so far the indoo.rs account and environment needs to be created / acquired separately from the ArcGIS Indoors package. To get indoo.rs IPS "activated" follow instructions at https://indoo.rs/login/ and contact your local Esri distributor. BR, -Tom

Hi Wayne, yes, BLE beacons are using RSSI and therefore you need also to create a separate RSSI radio map based on your beacon setup (Tx power) & locations - if you change either, you need to create the map based on the new configuration. ArcGIS Indoors is using radio map information to define/specify the location. If your organization uses the Indoo.rs IPS, you need to have account to Indoo.rs web site where you're able to create the building & floor configuration and create the radio map / floor you're using. You need to do several recordings in the property & floor with Indoo.rs MMT tool (seprate mobile app). Specific instruction to do this can be found from the application documentation. With the tools you update the recordings one by one to your Indoo.rs account where you finally run the "SLAM" to produce the final map to be used with ArcGIS Indoors. ArcGIS Indoors itself needs some configuration settings to be set regarding to this (e.g. building id etc.). These are configured with ArcGIS Pro Indoors geoprocessing tools to the AIIM Indoors Configuration table - this is described here: Configure the indoor positioning system—ArcGIS Indoors | Documentation When you have defined the AIIM in ArcGIS Pro, you just generate the MMPK from ArcGIS Pro and upload/share it to your ArcGIS Enterprise Portal. After this you're able to use the Esri ArcGIS Indoors mobile application (available for Android and iOS) and load the map to your device. Naturally, you're able to implement a custom mobile application too and using Indoo.rs SDK to implement any functionalities if you want. Setting up the BLE beacons are quite straightforward process - if you don't have to calibrate those BLE's to "fit" in your environment. Typically just rip off the protectors from the battery and the backside sticker and place them on the wall - about at the same height so that at each location in your building have signals from at least four (4) beacon. If possible, don't line up the beacons to get some variations - use common sense. Many beacon provider offers also some mobile apps to help managing and configuring the beacons, if needed - if possible, take advantage of these. There are many free apps too, which are quite handy. Yeah, I understand a Windows installation can be a tricky ... However, this is what should be selected at the very beginning of the ArcGIS Pro installation ... Also, depending naturally on your company security policies, as a user, you might or might not have the required privileges to do installations - if not, I suggest you to contact the admin. BR, -Tom

Hi, You must understand that BLE Beacons (or WiFi access points) just sends RSSI "level" information from which ArcGIS Indoors creates a fingerprint map that is used for location detection "related" to the Beacons or AP locations. You'll always need something or some part to do this work - RSSI itself doesn't contain any location information, and Survey123 itself doesn't contain such functionality either. Location information can be catch from the mobile phone GPS in Survey123, but as you mentioned this is not at the required precision when you're inside (inside your location is detected based on the mobile operator access points). This "option" needs to be selected at the very beginning of the installation - it'll surely ask for it. If you have Pro already installed otherwise, I assume you need to do uninstall to it and then reinstall. As this, files are also installed in different place on the disk. BR, -Tom

Hi, ArcGIS Indoors (nor Indoo.rs) doesn't provide by itself an IPS, so you'll always need a separate IPS. ArcGIS Indoors is compatible with different IPS providers products and protocols, so you may use for example BLE Beacons with iBeacon protocol. Precice depends a lot of the BLE Network setup, calibration and facility. ArcGIS Indoors is integrated with Indoor.rs, but if you need more customized behaviour for mobile side than ArcGIS Indoors application can offer you should use the SDK provided by Indoo.rs. I assume Indoo.rs and ArcGIS will become more and more integrated in the future. Survey123 can be used with ArcGIS Indoors just fine (you need to specify the service address in ArcGIS Indoors configuration). BR, -Tom

Hi, (1) & (2) to my understanding yes, because there is not any separate ArcGIS Enterprise for Indoors - and ArcGIS Indoors seems to be "just" a ArcGIS Pro extension/bundle with AIIM information model. You need to have specific ArcGIS Enterprise version (Advanced) and additional server components like Data Interoperability etc. on the server side. There is mentioned that ArcGIS Indoors also includes ArcGIS GeoEvent Server (for device tracking) - so if you plan to use this against existing environment, I assume you need to have these components in addition to ArcGIS Pro 2.3 and Indoors ArcGIS Pro bundle. Device locations can be logged to an ArcGIS Enterprise Feature Service or GeoEvent Server to allow visualization and analysis of device locations in Operations Dashboard, Web Maps, or any ArcGIS platform component that can consume a Feature Services or Stream Services.
