Is it possible to get data from a radiodetection RD8100 Pipe Locator (RD8100 Cable and Pipe Locator | Cable and Pipe Locator Range | Radiodetection ) device into Survey123? The RD8100 is capable of establishing a Bluetooth connection to a mobile device and exchange data with that device. However, is it possible to somehow connect that to Survey123?

How can I implement a select Features by Location with the ArcGIS Python API? I would like to select all features from a Point layer in a feature service that are within 0.5 meters from a feature in a Polyline layer in the same feature service. Both layers have the same spatial reference Total number of point features is 35, total number of line features is 1 point_feature_layer.query(where='1=1') returns 35 features I've tried this: # Create a Polyline first, because directly feeding cl_line.query(where='1=1').features[0].geometry into the spatial query on the points doesn't seem to work as a geometry_filter from arcgis.geometry import Polyline cl = Polyline(cl_line.query(where='1=1').features[0].geometry) point_feature_layer.query(where='1=1',geometry_filter=cl, distance=0.5, units='esriSRUnit_Meter') also returns 35 features, so the geometry_filter doesn't seem to work The Javascript API documentation suggested that with a distance parameter, the query would effectively select the points that Intersect a buffer of the polyline (buffered at the provided distance) so the default spatial relationship (intersects) would work. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here? regards, Marc

Hi Brandon, Thanks. Will do a bit more of testing. The original survey was taken from an existing feature service. I will try to create one from scratch and test if that works with and without images in repeats and then create another survey based on that new service and see if there's any difference. As the attachment HSE_Visit 2 Report in my previous message shows, I have been successful once with images in a repeat.

Hi Brandon, I create a new survey, taking my original survey as a template and deleting the submission url, so a new feature service would be created. I came to what is shown in HSE Visit 2_Report.docx. Which seemed pretty much ok. Then I wanted to add long and lat underneath the map using ${geometry | getValue:"x"} and ${geometry | getValue:"y"} , but then the report generation got stuck again (progress icon kept spinning). So I deleted the lat / lon section and tried again. However, this time my original report without the lat/lon didn't work anymore. Then I noticed something else: Whenever I upload a new template, it seems to save that template, but when I start the edit process again, it shows the name of the previous template, see attached Edit_* images. I'm not sure ifr any of this is related to the issues I'm having, but I found it peculiar. So it seems that creating a new survey with a newly associated feature service works, until the moment you get stuck.

Hi James, I did another test. I created another survey based on the same feature service that I used for my original survey. However, now I removed the repeats section (for the attachments related table), created my template and now it works. Then I added the repeats section, published my survey again. I ran it with the same template (that doesn't have any references to the related photos) and the report still worked. Then I updated my template to include the attached photos, and I'm stuck again. No printout. So it seems that it's not just repeats within groups as you mentioned, but also single repeats sections, that seems to cause the issue.

I've also tried it with the default template. Same result I've recreated the survey and tried again with a default template for that survey. Same result. Also tried with IE11 this time. No change.

I've tested this in Safari and Chrome on OS X, and in Chrome on Windows 7 It's a single repeats section, see attachments I can see the following requests (I removed the token part to keep it readable) being fired off, retrieving the photos from the attachments table and the features from layer 0 (this one is executed twice). These seem to execute OK, but then everything goes silent. https://utility.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/Utilities/PrintingTools/GPServer/Export Web Map Task/execute?f=json&Web_Map_as_JSON={"mapOptions":{"showAttribution":true,"extent":{"xmin":1073228.0729566894,"ymin":4257022.937526825,"xmax":3421373.5818766793,"ymax":5626774.48439682,"spatialReference":{"wkid":102100,"latestWkid":3857}},"spatialReference":{"wkid":102100,"latestWkid":3857},"scale":18489297.737236},"operationalLayers":[{"id":"layer2","title":"layer2","opacity":1,"minScale":591657527.591555,"maxScale":70.5310735,"url":"https://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Street_Map/MapServer"},{"id":"map796615_graphics","opacity":1,"minScale":0,"maxScale":0,"featureCollection":{"layers":[{"layerDefinition":{"name":"pointLayer","geometryType":"esriGeometryPoint"},"featureSet":{"geometryType":"esriGeometryPoint","features":[{"geometry":{"x":20.187846812828894,"y":40.520691087175045,"spatialReference":{"wkid":4326,"latestWkid":4326}},"symbol":{"angle":0,"xoffset":0,"yoffset":0,"type":"esriPMS","url":"https://survey123.arcgis.com/assets/img/survey-data/Location.png","width":18.75,"height":36.75}}]}}]}}],"exportOptions":{"outputSize":[460,280],"dpi":96}}&Format=JPG&Layout_Template=MAP_ONLY https://services2.arcgis.com/D5Q9p2c0OJOw3foO/arcgis/rest/services/service_ec9e8fb00dc94f58ad0b34caf76a8508/FeatureServer/1/3/attachments/3?token= https://services2.arcgis.com/D5Q9p2c0OJOw3foO/arcgis/rest/services/service_ec9e8fb00dc94f58ad0b34caf76a8508/FeatureServer/1/4/attachments/4?token= https://services2.arcgis.com/D5Q9p2c0OJOw3foO/arcgis/rest/services/service_ec9e8fb00dc94f58ad0b34caf76a8508/FeatureServer/1/2/attachments/2?token= https://services2.arcgis.com/D5Q9p2c0OJOw3foO/arcgis/rest/services/service_ec9e8fb00dc94f58ad0b34caf76a8508/FeatureServer/1/1/attachments/1?token= https://services2.arcgis.com/D5Q9p2c0OJOw3foO/arcgis/rest/services/service_ec9e8fb00dc94f58ad0b34caf76a8508/FeatureServer/0/query?f=json&returnGeometry=true&spatialRel=esriSpatialRelIntersects&geometry={"xmin":2245414.1434902363,"ymin":4940889.5079574175,"xmax":2247860.1283954233,"ymax":4943335.492862606,"spatialReference":{"wkid":102100,"latestWkid":3857}}&geometryType=esriGeometryEnvelope&inSR=102100&outFields=*&outSR=102100&resultType=tile&token= https://services2.arcgis.com/D5Q9p2c0OJOw3foO/arcgis/rest/services/service_ec9e8fb00dc94f58ad0b34caf76a8508/FeatureServer/0/query?f=json&returnGeometry=true&spatialRel=esriSpatialRelIntersects&geometry={"xmin":2245414.143499423,"ymin":4940889.507951193,"xmax":2247860.1284046136,"ymax":4943335.492856383,"spatialReference":{"wkid":102100,"latestWkid":3857}}&geometryType=esriGeometryEnvelope&inSR=102100&outFields=*&outSR=102100&resultType=tile&token=

I'm trying to print a survey using a custom template. After configuring the template and saving it, it appears under the Custom Print (Beta) section. However, when clicking the Print icon, it turns into a spinning arrows but nothing happens, even after 10minutes, it's still spinning. So as a next step, I've downloaded the default template, saved it on disk, and without changing anything in the file, uploaded it again. Same thing happens after clicking the print icon. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi, Just wanted to post a quick & dirty solution for a question I asked some time ago: Enable notifications for submitted surveys and changes Today I got to play around with Azure serverless functions and whipped up this script, building on top of this post by Prashanth Madi. As outlined in the Running Python Code on Azure Functions App post, follow these steps: 1. Create a function app (and replacing the .js1 file with a run.py file) 2. Upgrade Python 2.7.x to 3.6.x 3. Install a third party Python module (in my case requests) 4. Paste in the attached code into the run.py file, make the changes for your ArcGIS and email environment (I'm using O365 for email) and update other <your stuff here> comments in the code 5. Configure the app: Adjust the function.json to set the function type to TimeTrigger and set the time interval, set connection strings in the application settings for the passwords On my wishlist? - Get the ArcGIS Python API working (will require some way to get Anaconda installed first) - Have this notification functionality provided by Survey123 Happy notifications. regards, Marc

Good to hear that it's on the backlog. In the mean-time, what would be your suggested approach? Implement a Python polling script?

This question has been asked before, but I would like to cast the net a bit wider. Responses included using the Geo-eventProcessor to catch changes in the underlying feature services. It feels a bit like using a canon to kill a fly. I'm not sure if Survey123 forum is the right place to address this (Ideas also has a couple of entries on this topic), but I would like to see integration of feature services with ITTT or Microsoft Flows as it would allow integration of Survey123 with many more applications.

Thanks. Good to know you can recover the information from the device. Here's my vote to get the "Editing with repeats via inbox" higher on the priority list. We do many environmental surveys with repeats (soil sampling, water monitoring samples, etc) where existing locations need to be revisited to collect more samples.

We are also experiencing this issue with a survey having repeats (multiple photos to be uploaded). While waiting for this to be fixed, how can we rescue the photos, that have been taken as part of this survey entry, from the device (Android and iPhone)? They are part of the evidence for a report we need to file. They don't appear in the normal photo library, so I guess they have been stored within the app managed storage space.
