Hi @RomuldKiobya , In the OOTB rule types you mention in your post, the word 'Junction' does not mean the Junction feature class. It is a more generic term for network point (Device, Junction, and now the non-spatial junction 'object'). Confusing, I know. So in your example of High Voltage Arrester-High Voltage connector-High Voltage Transformer, assuming the two 'junctions' at the end of the connector are Devices, the Junction-Edge rules for these Devices would need to exist (or be added) so that the points (Devices) are allowed to connect to the connector line endings (and of course if other lines then go from these two Devices the Edge-Junction-Edge rules would need to exist as well). Hope that helps. In summary, no need for Device-Edge-Device. I think it is just the use of the word 'Junction' in two different contexts in Esri docs that makes it confusing.

Hi @LindseyStone , As connectivity associations was the first thing to come to mind I would agree most with option 2 from @JSchroeder . That would take care of your connectivity and tracing. Display of the associations could even be enhanced for users via the 'Create Association Lines' tool in the Utility Data Management Support Tools. The title of your post implies that your meters points are stacked? If that is also the case you will need to offset them in either the Z, XY, or both. Z is less appealing of a solution IMO because 2D maps still show them as a single point. I have seen both grid and spiral offset solutions implemented to unstack the meters. Keep in mind visual display needs when looking at options. FME is a great tool for implementing this type of offsetting if looking at automating it. Depending on the number of meters it can get quite 'busy' visually.

Thank you @RobertKrisher . As it is also known that the Update Subnetwork tool is costly (performance) on larger networks, I do hope an option for running the Export Subnetwork tool when 'Is Dirty' is not system managed is being developed.

I am using: Esri Ent 10.9.1 Pro v2.9.3 UN v5 (UPDM 2021) SQL Server v15.0.2095.3 I am creating a UPDM Utility Network in SQL Server and configuring the system to not manage ‘IsDirty’ attribute in Pipeline_SubnetLine (said another way, my Asset Package B_Tier table has the field Manage_IsDirty set to False for all tiers – a more recent best-practice for performance gains). The following errors occur when using the Export Subnetwork GP tool (Different errors if in python than in the GP Pane). (FYI – I am able to run the tool just fine in both the GP Pane and in Python in a second DB where the system is managing the ‘IsDirty’ attribute in Pipeline_SubnetLine, which is why I think this is the heart of the issue). GP Tool: Export Subnetwork (Utility Network Tools) GP Tool Env: Geoprocessing Pane GP Tool Error: ERROR 001982: No clean subnetworks were discovered. (The tool will not load any of the subnetwork names in the Tier for the user to choose from if IsDirty = True in Pipeline_SubnetLine GP Tool: Export Subnetwork (Utility Network Tools) GP Tool Env: Python GP Tool Error: ERROR 160526: No starting points found. (an ambiguous error, but I think it is coming from the same issue - IsDirty = True in Pipeline_SubnetLine for all subnets). Thanks for any ideas you might have. My hunch is that there is a limitation (bug?) in the tool that will not let it work without system managed 'Is Dirty' field in Pipeline_SubnetLine.

That was it @HusseinNasser2 . Yes, reading/editing via the Feat Svc. Excluding from client eval works. I think that this solution will work for my use case, but perhaps others will need this to work via client eval in the future, so thank you for sending the issue to the Pro team.

(reposting to this group. original post to the data management group, but not much response) I am trying to create an Attribute Rule that on record update in a line feature class that grabs the value in Shape_Length and copies it into another field. But in the Arcade text editor when choosing the Shape_Length field, it populates the script with $feature['Shape.STLength()'], the underlying method that populates that field in the db. Well, when the system tries to evaluate the rule upon record update, it errors out saying that it can't find the field [Shape.STLength()]. Well yeah, that is not a field, it is an ST geom method. How does one get the current value in Shape_Length without calling the underlying ST geom method? The Length() method leaves me a bit nervous because of the caveat of changing the results based on the scale of the map!? Yikes. And the projection I am using is NAD 83, so I can't use the LengthGeodetic() method. Any ideas greatly appreciated. For reference, screen caps of a line Feat Class field def in both an Ent GDB (SQL Server) and a FGDB: (Esri 10.9.1, Pro 2.9.3)

That is a system ID number for the UN and the associated db objects. Every time you create a new UN (Stage UN) in an enterprise GDB you will get a new ID number. It is for internal use by the esri tools that manage the UN. I think it is also supposed to avoid name conflicts in the DB. If you have a large and mature EntGDB already and are adding the UN and all of its domains, you wouldn't want to get naming conflicts between the UN domains and any existing domains.
