Hi Robert, I'm on esearch 3.6.8. Is there a way to customize the search results similar to how we can customize a normal pop-up. Specifically, I would like to concatenate some text with the field name in the titlefield like this: <titlefield>"some text"{FIELDNAME}</titlefield> I tried the following syntax which works in a pop-up but no luck: <titlefield>Asset: {ENERGYASSETTYPE}
</titlefield> My workaround will be to add a field to the gdb with the exact text specifically for use as a title but I prefer not to have redundant data if possible. Thank you, Glenn

I have reviewed many very nicely developed applications utilizing AGOL/Portal webmaps similar to the following: Where Are the Centers for Education Innovation? - A story map presented by Esri . Besides the basic bootstrap/dojo tutorial, are there any current js api templates that incorporate the responsive nature (collapsing side menu) but use the ArcGIS Server REST endpoints (not webmaps from AGOL/Portal)? I know this will require more js coding because I will have to individually build all the features that come "packaged" with a webmap. I am hoping to use some js dijits the complete the application. I would just like to start with a contemporary responsive js template and I really like the look of the storytelling templates for webmaps. Thank you, Glenn

Thank you for ensureing me that it "should" work. That led me to troubleshoot further and I found that I can get the compiled widget to work only if I unselect "Optimized for application - index.mxml". While this makes the swf larger (1.3MB), it does work as expected. I'm not sure what differences are between the vanilla index.mxml and the version in my application but I'm back in business. Thank you

I have read through all previous questions/answers but I am still unclear... My organization has a number of Flex Viewers configured for specific uses. These viewers have a mix of standard widgets along with some extra widgets for example our Emergency Awareness viewer contains US National Grid and Bomb Threat widgets. I created a custom widget using the vanilla Flex Viewer project off of GitHub - it compiles and runs great within it's project. My understanding (mis-understanding?) was that I could just copy the compiled folder and update references to the new widget with my main viewer config. Reading some past threads I see Robert has commented that the entire project must be copied over. That implies to me that some references must exists elsewhere in the compiled project files. My question is - if I do not have all of the source files for these other widgets (Bomb Threat, etc) - am I out of luck? Thanks, Glenn

I have recently experienced the same issue. All of our Flex apps will now not respond (zoom) to scroll wheel in Chrome. This is multiple workstations with the following configuration: Windows 7 SP1 Chrome 37.0.2062.103 Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0.177 Apps are on Flex 3.6 I have tried clearing browser history, rebooting, can't re-install Chrome very easily as our workstation environments are locked down from uninstalling/reinstalling. The holding down the Ctrl button to initialize zoom behaviors did work - but something did change / break recently within Chrome and Flex. Glenn

Hi Robert, Wonderful widget and thank you for all your efforts. I cannot get the sum feature to work. I've Googled around and cannot find a working example anywhere to see the desired results. From the service REST end-point, I verified I'm trying to sum a numeric field, I also edited any null values to 0 in the database. BOOK_COST ( type: esriFieldTypeDouble , alias: BOOK_COST ). Also, I understand summing a single field but does that mean only 1 field can have a sum? In other words Can I individually sum a value field and a population field on the datagrid. I've attached the config and a screenshot of what I'm getting for a result. Thanks, Glenn

Is there a way to make a note pop-up read-only? I have a number of notes which I created and formatted in html to show mutliple photo thumbnails (2 or 3 photos in each note popup) of buildings on our campus. The html contains some javascript that clicking on the thumbnail opens up a high-res version of the photo. Using the ACM, I'm trying to lock this "app" down to a read-only; open and pan around to your building, then click the note symbol of your choice, view the photo. I've been able to strip away most editing and analysis tools but the note pop up still allows editing. Is it time to install VS Express and the SDK and learn C#? Thanks, Glenn Walters Kennedy Space Center
