The scroll bars in Arc Pro are about half the size of what you see in a typical web browser, word doc, or even ArcMap. Any possibility of making them larger, for easier navigation of tables and windows?

I have created a map with multiple elements in ArcPro, including text boxes, legend, N Arrow, Scale, etc. Now I am trying to resize and move those elements, and they appear to be locked in place. When I try to move one, it just flies back to its previous location. I try to reorder in Contents, and they wont change order. I try to resize, and the edges just go back to previous position. Pro layouts get sticky and lock when I near completion, when creating a complex cartographic product. Any help is appreciated.

To use this feature, you first need to insert a second map frame into an active layout. Then when you click the Extent indicator drop down it will give you the option of which map frame's extent you want to show in your active frame. So it works, it just appears broken when you first click it because of the spinning pin wheel.

After the upgrade to ArcGIS Pro 1.2, the most promising improvement I found was that the program is now fairly stable. That alone made it worth my time to start doing projects in Pro. Don't get me wrong - it is an ESRI product, so crashes are inevitable! My main annoyance is the lack of simple tasks that we take for granted in ArcMap, thus I usually have an ArcMap window open at the same time, with the same datasets added to it, for quick editing. Edit in ArcMap, save, then remove the layer in Pro, undo that action, and the updated layer reappears in Pro. That said - as the above commenter mentioned - what is serious analysis? My job is heavy on cartography, light on true spatial analysis. I've found that the Project Pane, with the ability to copy and paste maps and layouts, as well as the Map Series function, makes it very convenient for creating map books/ sets. Cartographic enhancements like multi-layer masking and anti-aliasing makes for pretty map products, and the 'Bright Map Notes' is one of my favorite features - allowing the addition of graphics as an actual feature class. No more dummy draw tools and graphics that cause you to pull your hair out. Give it a shot!

Does Arc Pro have the editing ability to select a feature from one dataset, and paste it into another dataset? This is a simple and common editing task in ArcMap, but when tried in Pro, after selecting a feature I don't have the option to select the layer I would like to paste into - it will only paste into the same layer. Thanks - Charlie F

Yes, the Copy Features tool covers this. It does create a feature class, I store it in my project Geodatabase. One handy thing about it is that it loads back into your map with the same symbology as what you copied from. Not labeling though.

I have not yet worked with feature templates in Pro. I will take a look at these. Thanks for the replies!

If you make a lot of maps for your company, Pro has some great cartographic improvements upon arcmap: - Text anti-aliasing and more dynamic graphic inputs make for appealing map products. - Multiple layout functionality and the demise of those ridiculously slow dialog windows for everything from labeling and symbology to text and graphic input make for more streamlined production. - The side-by 3D views are super cool, but without the hardware and network support capabilities, they will crash your system, and make you question the meaning of your cubicle-bound existence. It's definitely got great capability, however I'm not yet seeing the intuitiveness, and speed, for which is being touted.

I attended the 2015 User Conference, and I heard the gospel, as spoken by Jack and Co. - ArcPro is ON, and it is REAL!! Soooo... I'm really trying to use ArcGIS Pro, and migrate my workflows to this software. As a GIS support person for a Lands and permitting department, the thing I map the most is road and utility easements; simply created by buffering an existing line feature to create a polygon feature within an existing feature class. Simply put: select a line feature, click the buffer tool, choose your template, define your distance, hit OK. You have a new polygon feature in your edit layer. I have searched the edit tools in Pro, and the help as well, and all I have found is the Buffer Geoprocessing Tool, which creates a new feature class. Is this tool available as an edit function? If not, when will it be available? This is a crucial editing functionality that needs to be a part of the ArcGIS Pro editing toolset. Thank you, and if I have overlooked this functionality in ArcGIS Pro, please make me aware of it, along with all the stonewalling I deserve!

That seemed to work for me as well. I changed the Coord. system to WGS 84, and the data showed up. Our organization has continually had problems with Basemap performance, the best solution so far has been using the basemap coordinate system in your map. Thanks for the replies!

Thanks for the reply, I can try using my own DEM. It won't have all the fancy basemap imagery though.

My elevation property is set to 'Features are On the Ground'. It is not specific to one vector layer, but rather all of them. It appears my basemap is not fully caching in that area, perhaps that is leading to the display problem. I will add this to the Arc Pro Forum as well, as it doesn't seem a strictly 3D mapping issue.

After adding a polygon GDB feature class to pro, there are certain areas of the data that show up as Slivers of no data. This is non-dependent on scale, or where I pan the data to. Only in 3D view. Anyone know why this is happening, and what solutions there may be? See snip. Thanks - Charlie F The area outlined in red is supposed to be part of the tan polygon, but the sliver always shows in the same spatial location across the display.
