Hi François, Sorry to take so long in response! the rationale for multiplying by 10 is to retain the two values in the output raster. Say if you had a raster with potential values of 1-9 and a second raster with potential values of 1-9 if you multiply one of the rasters by 10 to have values from 10-90 and then add the two rasters together you would end up with values between 1-90 retaining the values of both rasters. For example: Raster 1 value: 3 + Raster 2 value 7 = 37. Having both values in the single added raster allows the code to create the bivariate legend. Let me know if you have additional questions. I never got a reply but did find that I could merge the two datasets in ArcGIS Pro. Maybe a subtle hint to move to ArcGIS Pro?

If you are interested in what happens on federal public lands, one of the most important databases available is the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) LR2000 system, a non-spatial database with every record of oil, gas, renewable energy leasing, rights-of-ways, coal and other mineral development, land and mineral title, mining claims, withdrawals, classifications, and more on federal lands or on federal mineral estate. Every record has a legal description using the Public Land Survey System (PLSS), however who in their right mind has any understanding of how to read the PLSS! Using Selenium as a web scraper and Python for parsing and batching, a team at The Wilderness Society has been able to shed light on the LR2000 system. They have developed a system to download and store the geographic locations and record information. They have developed oil and gas, coal, solar, wind, geothermal mapping applications that allow users to interact with the records from the LR2000 system that can be updated with a single click (almost). This presentation will go over some of the technical details and challenges of using Selenium and Python to generate the spatial database as well as showing some of the big data results in a web map.

Bivariate legends are something that ESRI doesn't do very well. So since we wanted to generate bivariate legends we had to get a little creative. Using some creative ModelBu ilder tools you can create a bivariate legend within your map fairly simply using this model: Basically using the Fishnet tool you can create your two dimensional grid in a user defined location on the map. Then reclass the two input raster layers using the Slice tool and the number of columns used in the fishnet tool. Next multiply one of the variables by 10 and add the two raster layers together. Convert them to polygons and merge the fishnet and the converted polygons and dissolve. The bivarate tool interface is fairly easy to set up and can be run by anyone with the tool: The Fishnet is a little tricky but if you use the Identify tool you can click the location for the upper left as the Fishnet Origin Coordinate, then the Y-Axis Coordinate is the same X location as the Fishnet Origin Coordinate and the Y Coordinate is a value higher than the Y Coordinate of the Fishnet Origin Coordinate value. To set the Opposite Corner of the Fishnet you can use the Identify tool to find the coordinates for the lower right location of your bivariate fishnet grid. Next select the first and second variable raster layers. I would suggest using the Natural Breaks or the Equal Area options for the Slice tools depending on your data distribution and how you want it to look like combined. Then set your output feature class and you are all set! I have two examples both of which are published to ArcGIS server with an annotation layer that allows for text to be displayed along with the bivariate legend. The first is within the Web App Builder ArcGIS Web Application and notice that if you select any of the squares or the areas on the map it will highlight all similar values. This helps immensely with complex legends with so many colors. The second is in Scene http://arcg.is/1VLT6dv Attached you will find the mxd, model and 4 class layer symbology if you would like to try it out.

I have a simple map service (http://gis.tws.org/arcgisweb/rest/services/Demonstrations/WildernessBillsDemo/MapServer) published on our ArcGIS Server (v10.2), and I can't get it to display in an ArcGIS Online for Organizations web map. The service displays six points scattered across the United States. As you'll notice from the URL, we're using the Web Adaptor with security configured as shown in the following image. My service is configured for public access. My map-making process is Add/Add layer from web Specify my map service URL (http://gis.tws.org/arcgisweb/rest/services/Demonstrations/WildernessBillsDemo/MapServer) Confirm that the type of data is set to "An ArcGIS Server Web Service" "Use as Basemap" is unchecked Click "Add Layer" I get the following error message. If I click the "View in: ...ArcGIS.com Map" link near the top of the service entry in the Services Directory (see following image), the service displays properly. Is anyone able to explain this behavior and/or help me understand what I need to do to be able to add map services to an ArcGIS Online map?

I am an administrator of our organizational site. Several members have uploaded content. I know that I can view each member's content separately, but I'd like to get a complete list of all site content in one place. Is there a way to do this?

I'm creating a single-machine ArcGIS Server (AGS) site. My server is running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. I've installed AGS 10.1 SP1 successfully. During installation of the Web Adaptor 10.1 SP1 I'm told that the Web Adaptor installed successfully, but when the configuration page tries to open I get the following error.
Access is denied. Description: An error occurred while accessing the resources required to serve this request. You might not have permission to view the requested resources. Error message 401.3: You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials you supplied (access denied due to Access Control Lists). Ask the Web server's administrator to give you access to 'C:\inetpub\wwwroot\arcgisweb\webadaptor\Config.aspx'.
The account with which I'm logged in has 'full control' permissions to the inetpub folder and subfolders. Suggestions? Thanks.

For map (feature) services hosted on ArcGIS Online, only hollow- and solid-fill polygon symbology is effectively supported. Feature services can be published that use polygon hatching symbols, but the hatching will always be black--no color is supported. Similarly, when modifying the symbology of polygons in ArcGIS Online, only hollow- and solid-fill symbols are available. It would be very nice to support a more robust set of polygon symbology.

In ArcMap I add a single layer (wilderness areas in the U.S.) and symbolize all polygons with the same symbol from the ESRI Optimized style (100-year Flood Overlay). This symbol is a diagonal hatching. The only change I make is to the outline and hatching color, and I choose one of the colors from the ESRI Optimized style. I then publish the map document to our organization's ArcGIS Online (AGOL) site as a feature service, allowing only the 'Query' operation under 'Feature Access'. When I open the 'Details' page for the resulting service and click the link found under 'Layers', the 'Drawing Info:' section specifies (see below) that a simple diagonal fill and a simple line outline are to be used in rendering the polygons and that the color of both the outline and diagonal fill is the same (a green).
Renderer: Simple Renderer: Symbol: Simple Fill Symbol: Style: esriSFSBackwardDiagonal, Color: [92, 137, 68, 255] Outline: Simple Line Symbol: Style: esriSLSSolid, Color: [92, 137, 68, 255], Width: 0.4 Label: Description: Transparency: 0 Labeling Info: N/A
When I add this feature service to a map in AGOL, however, the diagonal lines are colored black instead of green. This is the case in IE9 and Chrome. You can see for yourself at https://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=671b142ab1564c40baeb02ac79112cda. 1. What's happening? 2. Can I do anything to get the symbology I intend? 3. Is it just that AGOL supports only solid fills at this time? If so, what are the plans for more robust symbology support? Thanks. Mark

When making a map in ArcGIS Online, I'd sometimes like to use one of the ESRI basemaps without its labels reference layer (e.g., Terrain, but without the labels). Is that possible?
