This is in a blog post: Multiple features can be selected at once by holding the SHIFT or CTRL key on your keyboard as you click features to add or remove them to/from the selection. What is FC? And how are you trying to run the query in against the published service layer? Is it JavaScript? If so, you can use UCase in JavaScript to convert values to uppercase so that they match.
