Hi again @CW-GIS , I tried out the following workflow today and analysis worked for me on Enterprise 11.2. Please let me know if you are testing something different. Create a layer in ArcGIS Online and add to my distributed collaboration group (by reference). In ArcGIS Enterprise, open that layer (I opened from my orgs content pane) in Map Viewer Classic. Open an analysis tool like Create Buffers and populate the tool with parameters (and use the layer from #2) Run the tool. I saw the result show up in the map. I completed the same workflow: using the "copy" option instead of by reference using the new Map Viewer, instead of Map Viewer classic. and all iterations worked. Looking forward to hearing from you, Sarah

Hi @CW-GIS, Can you clarify where you are trying to run analysis and see the message that the container is empty. Are you seeing this in Map Viewer Classic in Enterprise? Which looks like this? Can you include a screenshot of where you are seeing this message? That will help us test and diagnose what's going on. Thanks, Sarah, Product Engineer on Web Analysis

We've created an FAQ here about why you might not see the analysis button in Map Viewer: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-online-blog/faq-why-don-t-i-see-the-analysis-button-in-map/ba-p/1346090

Hi @PanGIS, If you are using ArcGIS Online, you need to meet the following requirements to see the Analysis button in the new Map Viewer: You have credits (I think 10 should be fine) You have the correct privileges' (see: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/analyze/licensing-analysis-mv.htm) You must have a hosted layer in your org. I can't tell from the above if you've created a hosted layer in your organization. If you're not sure, please try and publish a hosted layer via Pro, or uploading a zipped shp or filegdb. Once that's been published, reopen map viewer and see if the analysis button shows up. If you think you meet all three of those criteria, and you're still not seeing the button, please contact Esri customer support and they can work through it with you. If you are using ArcGIS Enterprise, you won't see analysis in Map Viewer until ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2, as @MikeGarcia noted. Thanks, Sarah Ambrose Product Engineer, Web Analysis

Hi @MobiusSnake I'm on the web analysis teams and can answer these questions. You are right, in Map Viewer we now keep a history of analysis in the map so you can easily rerun tools, review failures and messages, and iterate on your analysis. There is documentation on history here. So for your specific questions: 1. The only things stored in history are what you see in the history panel. This includes: The parameters (including input layer URL and filters) Any errors or warnings about the job The time it completed, the status, and any credits consumed The output layer 2. The history is stored within your web map. If you don't save the web map, your history is gone. 3. You can delete the history items by clicking on the X. You also don't need to save the web map, if you just want your results, and have no need for the history. Please let us know if you have any follow up questions, Sarah Ambrose Product Engineer, Web Analysis

Hi @Jay_Gregory, great question. To create a layer that only has unique points, you can use a few tools in succession to create a polygon for each point, dissolve the overlapping polygons to find unique locations, and then find the centroid of each unique polygon to create the unique points. Below is a workflow to complete this: Run Create Buffers on the geocoded points. Use a small distance, like 1 foot. For other parameters, use the tool defaults. Run Dissolve Boundaries on the Create Buffer output. There is now a single polygon at each unique geocoded location. Run Find Centroids on the Dissolve Boundaries output. This will create a unique point for each unique location. [Optional]If you want to keep the attributes from your original data, you can use Join Features to add the attribute data to the new point layer. The target layer will be the Find Centroids output and the join layer will be the original data. Perform Drive Time Analysis like you planned to. Thank you again for the great question - we’ll be sure to look at how we can create this functionality into a single tool in the future. Please let us know if this works or you have any questions. If you are using ArcGIS Online, try out the tools in the new Map Viewer so you can take advantage of new features like an updated UI and history. Thanks for the feedback @ClayDonaldsonSWCA We're working towards building a model like experience for analysis as well, using the same components and interface. Currently, we plan to keep Data Pipelines as it's own application, focused on data prep. Analysis, and model builder will be in the Map Viewer, so that you can perform more interactive analysis and take advantage of things like filtering, symbology, and charting. You will be able to use your layers created through Data Pipelines in analysis, so the two apps will be companions to one another. Sarah Ambrose Product Engineer, Web Analysis

Yes - the same problem in Edge. This issue should now be fixed with the latest release of Online, and working as of yesterday. To learn about what's new in analysis, check out this blog.

Hi @LimorZimskind , There is a known issue due to a recent Chrome update. There is a bug logged through customer support: BUG-000158878 - Layer browser window for analysis tools in Map Viewer does not appear in Chrome browser after recent update This will be fixed by late next week, in the mean time, you can complete analysis using a browser other than Chrome.

hi @lfern is this a feature layer you can share publicly? If so, we can try it out if you share the URL and parameters that you're using. If not, are you able to call support and they can help troubleshoot for you? Sarah, Product Engineer, Web Analysis

Hi @dvonck , Currently, parquet-based big data connections cannot be added to the map (including opening the attribute table), visualized, or used directly in tools that are not part of GeoAnalytics Desktop tools. To use them in the next step of your analysis or visualization, first run a GeoAnalytics tool, such as Copy Big Data Connection, to save the results as a shp of fgdb, then you can do further analysis or visualize them. There are notes on the support here: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/big-data-connections/use-big-data-connections.htm#GUID-943CCC38-C31E-401F-BB79-2FDFA10B75A0 - see the notes under visualize and use BDC datasets in analysis. I'll update those notes to include the suggested workaround and clarify you can't open the attribute table. Thanks, Sarah Ambrose Product Engineer, GeoAnalytics

Oh sorry - I thought you were trying to use the join expression in the Join Features tool. Don't pay attention to my answer, it was about using the join expression parameter in the GeoAnalytics tool join features. I didn't realize you were trying to do symbology on a layer 🙂

Hi @KellyArmstrong , The Join Expression should be a condition that evaluates to true or false (you don't need to return anything). If the condition is met, the features will be joined, if it's not, they won't be joined. Currently your expression is trying to return a result, which isn't the intended use. From the doc here: Expressions are used in the Join Features tool to specify join conditions. In some cases, you may want to specify a condition to select features that should be included in the join. .... A join condition must always result in true or false. Expression examples are included in the sections below. You will also need to specify $target + $join instead of $feature - to specify which datasets + field you are using. So something like: ($target['media_type'] == 'Curb Tie') && ($join['media_type'] == 'Building Inspector Curb Tie') But it seems like just applying a filter on your input layer will meet your needs and is simpler, since it sounds like you only want to join features with specific values. You can do this by clicking the "filter" button under the layer in your map, filtering for features where media_type = Curb Tie on one layer, and the other layer has curb type Building Inspector Curb Tie. Please let me know if you have any follow up questions, Sarah Ambrose Product Engineer, GeoAnalytics
