If I bring the layer into ArcMap, I am able to split the line at the vertex.

It is the interactive split in the modify features group.

I selected a line, and chose the Split Tool, and highlighted a vertex, if I click on the vertex the line does not split. If I go off the vertex either side I can split the line. I can even split the line if I go to the center of the line between 2 vertexes. Thank you.

While editing our Wyoming Statewide Rail System (I created lines for each rail in the system). I utilized the copy parallel and split tools extensively. These tools helped to increase my productivity for completing this project. One surprise I had with the split tool was that it did not allow me to split my lines at vertexes. I could split at intersections or midpoints, but not vertexes. I had to add a couple of steps to work around this. The split tool was primarily used when the parallel tracks widened at points along the track or at major curves in the track. As a result the project would have benefitted from being able to split at the vertexes. I have included a few images to show the complexity of the project. Thank you for your consideration.

I am having a frustrating issue with Pro once I am finished copying/pasting features into shapefiles. Pro maintains those selections in the clipboard. I can slow down my editing to the point of having to close Pro and restarting the program. When I do this Pro tells me that there is a large amount of data still on the clipboard, and would I like to keep the data to use later or delete. I choose to delete, and the program freezes, I then have to go into the Task Manager to close the program the rest of the way. I would like to have Pro automatically clear the clipboard once the copy/paste is complete, I have no need for the Program to hold the data in the clipboard, having the ability to auto clear the clipboard would really help with my productivity in this process. What versions of Pro and Server are you using? There could be an incompatibility issue between the versions.

As I was reading your issue, I was thinking the same thing that there are some residual settings from the original project that are not allowing the overwrite to play nicely. I would add the data into a new map in the project and see if you are able to publish from that map. If you are able too, I would delete the previous map and continue with the new map.

Yes sir they can, if you are no longer using them in a Map View or Web Map.

John, thank you for your post. Over the passed couple of weeks I just went through the same scenario with our GIS server. We used to have two server load balanced solution. However, a number of years ago we shutdown one of the servers, because we were not seeing the usage of the system at the time. Our problem was that we did not add the other 2 cores of the additional RAM to our system. Over the course of the passed 3 years we have seen an increase in the use of all 3 over aching areas of our system (mobile, web, and server/desktop) to the point that 98% of our RAM was being consumed at any moment. We have since increased the cores and the RAM and have alleviated our speed bottle neck. I graphics card would take move the image functions to the card, but it does not fully affect your geoprocessing that is all related to the cores and RAM. I am afraid you would still see some potential issues, especially if the majority of the 20 layers are large vector layers. You can apply zoom scales to these layers so that they do not show until the appropriate zoom level is reached. Then a minimal amount of layers are showing when zoomed to the full extent. I hope these help, just wanted to share what we have gone through and what is working for us, good luck.

If you have all ready installed some of the server components it will affect theEnterprise Builder. I ran into that a few years ago upgrading my server, I had uninstalled everything and tried EB so it would be a fresh install. I have not heard that that has changed in the new versions of the Server software. Thank you.
