Does anyone know if this is possible somehow now that we are half way through 2020? Thanks!

Hi Xander Bakker...I think it has to do with the fields having domains. When I just return 'test', my new, empty field is correctly populated with the string test. When I run 'return DomainName($feature,"UAV1")' it shows the correct result below in the results, but when I confirm with OK to run the arcade calculator, my field remains empty... Any further idea?

I've tried your code, it worked in the Arcade Calculator, it again said calculating fields > committing > inserting, but the fields still stay empty. Am I missing a command to actually write the output of the console into the fields when using the calculate fields tool on AGOL? Whatever I do, it's always empty:

I have 5 text fields, each holding a name. In AGOL I've created a new field that should hold all respective field values in a string (I used 2 for loops to count the number of non-empty fields; if there's just 1 populated field, I don't need a comma separator). Testing my Arcade expression in the console was successful, the output is correct, but it simply won't write to my newly created field, although it says calculating fields > committing > inserting when confirming my Arcade expression window with OK. It just stays empty. Here's my code and my console output: How do I write my output into my newly created field on which I applied the field calculation?

*Doh!* You're totally right...now it works also in AGOL. But why was it working in Pro? Probably ArcGIS Pro being ArcGIS Pro again 🙂 Thanks!

Simple task: I've created some contours, I only want my even numbers to show on my contours as labels. Since some of those come with a lot of decimal places, I've added a round function. This perfectly works in ArcGIS Pro. When I share my map as a Web Map to AGOL, it still shows only my even labels, but won't respect the round function (left side ArcGIS Pro and the label expression menu, right side AGOL): The label expression in AGOL is still there, but it won't apply onto the map: €1: yes I know creating the variable is useless in this example...but it won't work either way. €2: oh and now that I see it: the label placement in ArcGIS Pro was set to 'Shield', while on AGOL it's shown differently.

I know this is not possible with Collector, but I just point out what our large AEC company is tendering out currently with big $ involved: 1.) Photomanagement not just on 2D maps, but within 3D scenes for BIM models 2.) ideally, select a Revit or (if this is required in the GIS world) multipatch feature on your mobile and add an image as additional attachment directly to this associated (editable) feature layer. 3.) but at least: since GPS is messing up the positioning within a building, it should be possible to drag positions onto the 3D element afterwards in an editable scene view on the browser 4.) bonus: have proper 360° panoramic imagery support for feature attachments (which was already proposed in 2018 ) With Esri's ongoing focus on 3D GIS and the collaboration with Autodesk, I really hope ArcGIS Collector jumps onto the BIM train too and won't miss out too much. There's so much potential...

We run dozens of UAVs in our large AEC company and have a huge BIM unit working on and with 3D data (mainly Revit and IFC). I knew ArcGIS Earth existed, but never found the time so have a look into it. Seems like that was a mistake - there are a couple of really interesting features. We use Pix4D for our enterprise drone operations and recently got a request from one of our larger UAV teams that they have issues with sharing larger datasets on the Pix4D cloud, since it won't support large scale Orthomosaic hosting. That's why they approached us with the following requirements: 1.) be able to host and show performant Orthomosaics regardless of size (20+ km of high res UAV data) --> check (hosted on ArcGIS Enterprise and viewed super smoothly on ArcGIS Earth) 2.) be able to draw elevation profiles from point clouds (or DEMs derived from those point clouds) --> check (very nice tool in ArcGIS Earth) ...so far, so good - but there would be some additional tools that are requested and that would be super nice to have in ArcGIS Earth. With those, we could really think about ditching Pix4D entirely to be honest: 3.) be able to export those elevation profiles not just as png files (as it is now), but also as dxf, csv or kml 4.) also add other export options for points, lines, polygons (again dxf, csv or shp would be nice in addition to kml) 5.) ab able to calculate volumes (like the Polygon Volume function does from 3D Analyst, but with more base elevation options, not just elevations at a constant height...Pix4D offers base elevations with interpolated vertices heights, min, max, avg, fixed value or imported polygons). 6.) be able to show/download attachments that are part of 3D features...in the Scene viewer it works as intended, in ArcGIS Earth it just shows the name (here a short screen cap) 7.) there seems to be a bug with visualizing ground when zooming closer to the object on this global scene (here another screen cap) 8.) this would be a very nice to have thing in the long run: also show 3D models hosted on AGOL/Enterprise (Revit or at least multipatch features) €dit: oh I just found that 3D models from DXF and IFC were deprecated recently? Such a shame...those are probably the most important file types in the AEC industry.

I really struggle finding a single usable panoramic image viewer in the entire Esri app universe and just played around with the EP for the first time. It is still far away from WAB widget functionalities, but I like the free placement of elements within my screen. I tried to create one large frame that holds the panoramic image (from the feature attachments) with some overlain meta information, while the map below is just a small frame that holds the features with the image attachments (see attached clip). Now there are several issues with that, some are lacking functionalities, some are probably unintended behavior: 1.) when I select a feature in the map, the panoramic image shows as intended. But whenever I move the map or zoom in the map, the Card widget (that holds the panoramic image) loses its focus and shows the default empty image placeholder. This has to be unintended behavior in my opinion, because it wouldn't make any sense if not. 2.) as far as I can see there is no way to add a horizontal or vertical scroll bar if I chose to select the full image size to be shown in the frame (because I need all the details), is this correct? 3.) is there any way to select the first (or last) feature as the initial default so it won't show the default empty image placeholder? 4.) on the top left corner I placed all the XYZ projected coordinates from the attributes. Whenever there is no image selected, it just shows the expression code. Is there any way to tell EP to only show those fields if a feature is actually selected? 5.) is there any way to zoom within the image frame? 6.) would it be possible to create a custom widget that downloads all the images that are selected with a polygon on the map view?

Will WAB at one point switch over to 4.x or will the Experience builder (which is a 4.x app) receive the same widgets and custom web tool capabilities as the WAB? Right now the Exp. Builder is not as rich in functionalities out of the box as the WAB is.

Have a look at this screenshot below: the left widget is the Details one, the one to the right of it is the List widget. Is there any way to show all the attachments based on map extent for the Details widget like it does for the List widget? I want to have all my attachments sit just underneath each other - right now I have to click through them one by one with this directional arrows on top of where it says Attachments (here it says 1 of 11 since there are 11 items on the map extent). I'm aware there is this Attachment viewer configurable app, but it has the same restrictions (minus the possibility to filter by map extent).

Since Pix4D is very limited in the size of Orthomosaics that can be hosted on the Pix4D cloud, we'd like to shift everything to ArcGIS Enterprise (with 3D Analyst tools that should work with the Advanced Server type). Thus we want to recreate as much as possible: a) host Orthomosaics regardless of size, b) create a web tool that creates profiles that are downloadable, and c) create a Polygon Volume web tool based on own polygon inputs drawn on the map. While ArcGIS offers just the possibility to draw polygons of a constant height with its Polygon Volume function, Pix4D offers far more options: triangulated (default...connects the heights from the placed vertices to a polygon with varying heights), average, lowest, highest, custom. We usually never work with a polygon at a constant height since this represents ground plains the least best. Thus I propose to add more options on how the ground plain is represented with the Polygon volume function in ArcGIS.

Good day all. We're currently thinking of investing in an ArcGIS Enterprise solution and we're in the process of evaluating its use cases for our (very large) construction company. A rather pressing requirement right now is the one of photo & deficiencies management. Right now, we're evaluating specialized solutions such as docu tools, Dalux field or ed controls. I'm pretty confident, that most of the requirement can be solved with a combination of Workforce+Survey123+Collector. But there are two things, that are very important and where I can't see an ESRI based solution right now: 1.) yes, we all know pdf CAD plans are annoying, but they are still reality in most cases. We would have to service a web application where the surveyors should be able to upload a pdf CAD plan (that's not georeferenced) where he's able to manually (and roughly) adjust the extents of the pdf in a way that it fits reality as closely as possible. He then uses this manually georeferenced pdf as a basemap (or just as an overlay, doesn't matter) on his mobile app (Survey123 or Collector). 2.) When field crew done with field surveying, the images should be sorted in a very structured way in another serviced web application. Main folders should be Date, Author and Location. Sub-folders should be automatically separated by month & day of image capture, by name of the field surveyor, by predefined locations (probably separated by a geo fence). Here a little mock-up, how this should look like: Any idea on how to handle this request (if possible at all)? Thanks!

I think I might have a pretty slick idea on where to implement Survey123 in our company, but I'm not sure if this works...so here we go: 1.) let's say you have an editable hosted feature layer where you can draw some polygons to indicate an area. This polygon is drawn on a map consisting of polygons that represent state boundaries. 2.) now I want to create a custom web form that's based on Survey123 to use webhooks (MS Power Automate) 3.) I don't know if it's possible to include own web maps in my survey or if I have to use the map option in Survey123 Connect, but I want to send an autom. e-Mail to a specific set of e-Mail addresses based on where the polygon was drawn. For example: I have someone draw a polygon in New York, and upon submitting the form, a predefined e-Mail is sent to different New York based e-Mail addresses. If someone else draws a polygon in Texas, the e-Mail will be sent to some Texas based e-Mail addresses. Is there a way to accomplish this? So basically quarry the underlying state with my polygon geometry to set the recipient of this web form. Thanks!

When I launch the "Attachment viewer" template and select any map, the map window just stays empty in the configurator after I have selected a web map as the content to show. It shows only the items of the app configurator however, nothing of the map. I tried this in Firefox and Chrome and with different web maps...is there a bug in the template? I have an older Attachment Viewer Web App that still works, but when I try to edit this app, it's the same: map window remains all empty, only configuration items visible (see attached screenshot). Can someone try this out please? Can you reproduce this? Thanks!
