This was my mistake, I forgot to tell you that you need to use the Rectangle tool for the polygon to get the right click Direction/Size tool.

Here is another idea, when creating the polygon you can use the Right click option Direction/Size:

In the Traverse tool you can set the Length to use Delta Angle in the drop down. Then type in your values: If you will be most commonly using dms for the delta angles set that as the default in the Project > Options > Units > Angular Units. You can also us the override of "D" in the length if you have it set to ArcLength or Chord Length 14-08-14D Here is more information about this in the curve overrides section: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/editing/enter-a-traverse.htm

You will need to add chains to your list of Distance units in the Project options, then you will be able to use the "ch" override in the Traverse tool.

Hello, To enter this into the traverse it would look like screenshot below, you will have to use the RB, radial bearing override for the non tangent curve described here: "a non-tangent curve to the left from which point the radius point bears South 1°39'00" East" To check this you can use the Direction Distance measure tool to verify the chord direction and distance are correct: "Chord: 355.23' Course: S87° 04' 17"W"

Another option is to use the Circular Arc editing tool to find the ArcLength of a curve. In the clip below I already have an existing curve (this can be curve on a line or a polygon). Create a new line feature to get the existing curve information. Make sure that End Point snapping is on. Simply draw a line over your existing curve using the End Point Arc Segment curve option, in this example. Right click and choose Circular Arc. This will give you all the parameters of the curve. Exit out of the tool and cancel the sketch.

Hello Freddy, If I am understanding correctly you are trying to divide polygons into equal parts in ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro? Since you mentioned the parcel fabric, if you are trying to do this in ArcMap there is a specific parcel fabric tool called the parcel division tool which requires the data to be in a parcel fabric in a file geodatabase that uses feature classes (not shapefiles .shp). I would recommend that you use ArcGIS Pro, if you have it available to you. In ArcGIS Pro there is an Editing Modify tool called Divide, the Divide tool works on polygons features classes and polygons shapefiles.

For developers that are familiar with the .Net SDK in ArcGIS Pro that lets you write your own customer Add-Ins this is a good introduction to the new parcel fabric .Net SDK. This session introduces the Parcel Fabric API which is in pre-release at 2.5. We’ll cover the information model, concepts and editing patterns. Additionally, we’ll highlight COGO-specific patterns such as using ground to grid corrections and converting between different direction formats.

Here is our COGO timeline in ArcGIS Pro: 1.4 COGO Traverse 2.3 Traverse Help (this link is to the latest Traverse help documentation) 2.0 GP Enable COGO GP Disable COGO More functionality added to Traverse (modify traverse) SDK Supports unit conversions for directions - Quadrant Bearings/ etc. 2.1 Construct Polygon Tool (constructs a polygon from closed looped lines) 2.3 Ground to Grid Editing constraints or dynamic constraints on COGO enable lines, the typed in COGO values are now written to the COGO fields You might be interested in the Divide tool, which also writes to COGO fields and divides lines using measurements and divides polygons using areas. (Divide line by proportion option is for ArcMap equivalency of Proportion tool.) Fillet tool SDK Supports access to ground to grid correction properties. More COGO for 2.4 Update COGO (updates COGO attributes for selected COGO enabled lines) Circular Arc editing constraint Automatically continue feature for 2 point lines Offset tool (for station/offset) Ground to grid support for Copy parallel Is there something specific that you are looking for?

The ArcGIS Desktop 10.5.1 Parcel Editor General Maintenance Patch is now live on the support site. The URL is: https://support.esri.com/en/download/7597 Summary Esri recommends installing this patch to address an error message that prevents completing some parcel fabric edits, and to fix a bug that prevents building a saved parcel construction that has dangling lines. Issues Addressed with this patch BUG-000107309 - The error, "Transfer data (XML stream) has missing data" is returned when performing a parcel remainder and other operations. BUG-000085298 - When constructing from parent parcels, if the construction in saved and re-opened, and dangles are detected that include two curves that share the same radius point, the following error is received when building parcels: "Error saving job back into database. The operation was attempted on an empty geometry".

In the ‘Load parcel polygons’ help documentation using the Integrate tool is just one of many options that is available to enforce coincidence between datasets. Using Integrate is not a requirement. Please note that the Integrate tool is an option when you are starting with only Parcel Polygons. In your post you mention “record problems from plat, legal or deed” if you are starting with only Lines then please look at the help documentation for ‘Load parcel lines with COGO dimensions’ http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/manage-data/editing-parcels/loadcogo.htm If you are starting with only Parcel Polygons I suggest that you really know the types of errors in your data to determine if this is the right tool to use to achieve coincidence. Please read through the Integrate documentation to get a better feel of how this tool works and how the XY tolerance value can affect the input polygon datasets. Please note when working with Integrate on any features you need to be aware that this tool does not give you a new output so it is recommended that this tool be used on copies of your data. I also suggest that you run this tool on small subsets of data so you can examine the results and test different XY tolerances. http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/tools/data-management-toolbox/integrate.htm
