Hi Team, We know how to do the manual upload on the ArcGIS platform, added a screenshot for reference. Now we are looking to upload GeoSpatial files i.e. GeoJSON, Shape, and other files using a JavaScript program. We followed multiple tutorials but have not gotten any luck so far. Are there any specific steps defined? so we can follow to upload programmatically.

Hi @StephenRhea_NV5 1. You can set the caching behavior for a feature layer from the Layer Properties dialog box. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/layer-properties/how-caching-works.htm 2. Try setting map extent also https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/properties/set-a-custom-full-extent.htm Thank you!

This issue can occur when there are broken references. You can try fixing this with ArcGIS Pro SDK for .NET utilities. Pro Fix References utility can help. Original post doesn’t have SDK version mentioned so below ref. link is taken for 2.6 ver. SDK. https://github.com/Esri/arcgis-pro-sdk

Hi @RoseLui, For ArcGIS Pro, the Import3DFiles is a tool exactly for that. Its in the 3DAnalyst toolset https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/tool-reference/3d-analyst/import-3d-files.htm Additionally, ArcGIS JS SDK allows you to code this to a web scene layer with Javascript – where users can add their obj files – this link below has codepen reference https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/sample-code/import-gltf/index.html

Hi @Anonymous User, Isn’t this possible from ‘Visualization’ tab under ‘Item Details’ on hosted feature layers ? There are 2 ways to configure popups. One is in map viewer. https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000019514 Thanks!

Hi Erfan, No existing app / template I am aware of. You can easily build a custom widget for your needs. You can lookup the print widget documentation here: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/web-appbuilder/create-apps/widget-print.htm In the same link for print widget, on the left side bar menu you will find all you need to quickly build your widget requirements. Also the below forum thread discussed in past about how to publish your widget for others to use https://community.esri.com/thread/205211-publishing-custom-widget-in-arcgis-online

You are right.. the 2 libraries seem to conflict. But see if this works for your needs (it worked for my chart example I tried). Using the “defer” keyword to load ArcGIS JS at end of page load, by when the charts on the page are already loaded. The conflict with the libraries may create other problems – so it’s not a full resolution I guess. <script src=" https://js.arcgis.com/4.16/" defer>

You would use that just like you use other interfaces in C# primarily the interface definition already has a method get or set ServerObject – as you will find here-> https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/sdk/latest/windows/IServerObjectHelper_ServerObject.html If you are looking for examples this may help you https://programmersought.com/article/4663114551/ If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact us.

The errors you have are not ArcGIS errors.. they are indicative of missing handlers that are expected per your code. What you are trying to do may be achieved with sample code here - https://developers.arcgis.com/net/latest/uwp/api-reference/html/T_Esri_ArcGISRuntime_Geometry_Polyline.htm

Hi Dávid Gregor “ Just suggesting an approach: ArcGIS promotes doing this with range sliders I think – like here for desktop -> https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/range/get-started-with-the-range-slider.htm Once you are able to see this done and how the properties are applied to show the selected data,.. doing the same with visiblerangeSliders in javascript like in an older js version example below, should help. https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/3/jssamples/layers_raster.html “

HiMichael Lev, To process a zip file or uploaded file you will need to work with the server-side. Javascript will only be able to process if the server-side responds with data. JS libraries that can process zip files or uploaded files are executed on server usually as node libraries. So this is not a client-side javascript question, as that technology is restricted for security reasons by browsers in reading files from file system. IF for your scenario Generate returns a response, only that you cannot place the feature entirely as a layer – then you may be able to read and extract information from the response object to a generate call and take necessary actions. Note here, you are asking ArcGIS REST API running on server (probably using python with pyshp(https://pypi.org/project/pyshp/) like libraries to process shape) to process the file. Thank You!

That is a javascript Question you have.. not really ESRI ArcGIS JS related. So you should review javascript topics to do the warning part. May be this below link will guide -> https://stackoverflow.com/questions/12030686/html-input-file-selection-event-not-firing-upon-selecting-the-same-file And if you have further questions on it.. you should post to stackoverflow javascript forum probably.

Hi Michael Lev, You are correct. Just ensure the event handler is not disabled or changed in any other part of your code. You seem to be programmatically attaching the onchange event, that’s why I say that. You may need another button /mechanism to call a validation method. To check if the file path is changed and to produce your warning related logic.. as the code you have shared indicates only onChange handler. Thank You!

Hi Chris, For Feature layers, the below link explains the different ways those parameters are honored internally in the API. Hope that explains. https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/services-reference/feature-layer.htm Extracted from above link: - The property maxRecordCount is used if the resultType value is none. This can be the default server assigned (1000, 2000) or a value that is overwritten by the service owner or admin. - The property standardMaxRecordCount is used if the resultType value is standard. Example: ("standardMaxRecordCount" : 32000) If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact us. arcgis REST API

Hi Damon DelNegro, Since your code/app is generating the token in the first place, you can set an expiration parameter. If not set, by default tokens generated have expiration of 60 minutes. If you are using ArcGIS JS – IdentityManager – it has generateToken method – here’s the link https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/api-reference/esri-identity-IdentityManager.html If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact us. arcgis-insight arcgis rest api
