I managed to fix it by reverting one of the Portal config files and reindexing but it was a scary experience.

Hello, I tried to change the db content folder of my Portal to something like //nasshare1/arcgisportal/ but as soon as the change was made I got a JDBC error and now my Portal isn't working anymore. Is there any way to restore it? Here is the error I got just before Portal quit working: ava.lang.Exception: Cannot connect to database: jdbc:postgresql://localhost:7654/gwdb Connection to localhost:7654 refused. Thanks Igor

Also, all the existing services were published through ArcMap 5+ years ago. When I tried to publish a service through ArcGIS Pro, everything worked and I can publish and access the MapServer URL in Server Manager. So should I just republish everything through Pro if I want to federate with Portal?

I am federating ArcGIS Server with Portal for ArcGIS and I can't get any tokens from Portal nor publish services to Server anymore. Whenever I click on any existing map service, it's asking me to sign in but whenever I type in my credentials, I get the error "Unable to access authentication service". I did a network trace and I see it's doing this call to Portal to get a token: https://myportal.myorg.com/arcgis/sharing/rest/generateToken?request=getToken&username=admin&password=password&expiration=60&referer=gis.myorg.com&f=json but when I try this URL in a browser, I get error code 405 GWM_0005 Method not supported. In the Portal error logs, I see Token generated for user 'admin' when I tried the credentials. Also in Portal Security, I added gis.myorg.com to trusted servers and to CORS but that didn't have any effect. Is there some other setting that I am missing? Thanks, Igor

Is it possible to somehow schedule Python scripts in Portal? Currently I have a sever that runs a bunch of Python scripts on task scheduler and it would be nice to offload all this to Portal. Thanks, Igor

Jonathan, I did a network trace and I see a call to this URL with 200 status code: https://gisvm.company.com:6443/arcgis/rest/services/System/SpatialAnalysisTools/GPServer/CreateBuffers/submitJob?f=json&inputLayer={"url":"https://services2.arcgis.com/j80Jz20at6Bi0thr/arcgis/rest/services/crime/FeatureServer/0","name":"Crime"}&dissolveType=None&distances=[1]&units=Miles&ringType=Rings&OutputName={"serviceProperties":{"name":"Buffer_of_Crime","serviceUrl":"https://gisvm.company.com:6443/arcgis/rest/services/Hosted/Buffer_of_Crime/FeatureServer"},"itemProperties":{"itemId":"b91b496ffb6e4112910d4137413fcb45"}}&context={"extent":{"xmin":-10777339.890868273,"ymin":4983404.183596585,"xmax":-10751771.704906914,"ymax":4992404.643677153,"spatialReference":{"wkid":102100,"latestWkid":3857}}}&token=fr8HA9v15blKWT8dqEu-DKr0VjndlJarfB5yMSHnHkQvo7aCZnAykMj5-EkB5YLkASZBZCu2p9nEwoyzeCadjvNzmui0N6e37YyHgaW7-Bau0M_P2Kj2Uz3qL0P7StjLWenhzNgOGCVzR-BbOYi6c3ichDL03e4aTW2W5HpXwvndCjU2w7B2I_nvSG08dc134mXEoG-8Rwl0m9wJ_xoQopFPkrouat24wQ-oeYx-p0JmVSj3FWxPiEftmsbYTpSAByNF0irrHv8bv-5W2M7p4w.. The Portal is on-prem, but I grabbed this layer from AGOL and that is why it's trying to reference services2.arcgis.com in the call. I tried this again with a layer that is hosted in my organization, and I saw a call to the same URL above (but referencing my internal portal instead of services2) and the tool completed successfully. I went back to Portal and added services2.arcgis.com to the CORS section and tried the tool again, but it didn't work. Is there some other setting I should look at? Or maybe you can't run spatial tools against AGOL content if your on-prem Portal isn't visible to the web since it's sending a reference to my on-prem link in the call to services2? Thanks, Igor

I will try this, but I have tested the operations in the GeometryServer on my ArcGIS Enterprise instance that I have set Portal to reference, and they worked fine. For example, I tried Buffer analysis and it didn't work so I tested the Buffer operation on Enterprise and it worked. I assume Portal uses the tools in ArcGIS Enterprise for all Analysis? Thanks, Igor

I am trying to perform some analysis on some ArcGIS training data consisting of about 10 points. If I perform any analysis at all, it runs for about 30 seconds and I get a blank error popup. I have enabled verbose logging and after looking at the log files, I see it created a hosted service, but then it immediately deletes it for whatever reason, here is the log: To me, it looks like the error happens because Portal is deleting the hosted service, question is why? This happens on all analysis tools. I actually had to disable 64 bit because of this error. Looks like runtime isn't compatible with 64 bit yet? Severity Code Description Project File Line Suppression State Error The Esri.ArcGISRuntime.Xamarin.Android package does not currently support building for the x86_64 architecture. Please uncheck this option in Project Settings -> Android Options -> Advanced -> Supported architectures. But all of the locators I created in ArcGIS Desktop should be 32 bit anyways right?

Hello, I am trying to create a new offline locator for use with a Xamarin app, and I was following this guide: Offline geocode | ArcGIS for Developers The example works great in my code with the provided san-diego-locator.loc locator, but whenever I try to go and create my own locator and plug it into this example, I get: Esri.ArcGISRuntime.ArcGISRuntimeException: 'Invalid response' I have tried creating a few different new locators with different styles and style releases. I have tried known working locators as well, but can't get it working. I have tried to look at the san-diego-locator.loc but weirdly it doesn't even appear as a valid locator in ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro crashes whenever I try to get information on it. When I look at the locator XML files to compare, they look completely different: Snippet from what I created, these alias tags make up most of the XML: <alias_def> <alt>05647</alt> <alt>5647</alt> </alias_def> <alias_def> <alt>04354</alt> <alt>4354</alt> </alias_def> Snippet from example, made up of completely different tags: <tr> <td id="L24500" class="blob-num js-line-number" data-line-number="24500"></td> <td id="LC24500" class="blob-code blob-code-inner js-file-line"> <<span class="pl-ent">alt</span> <span class="pl-e">ref</span>=<span class="pl-s"><span class="pl-pds">"</span>_blvdbyp<span class="pl-pds">"</span></span>/></td> </tr> <tr> <td id="L24501" class="blob-num js-line-number" data-line-number="24501"></td> <td id="LC24501" class="blob-code blob-code-inner js-file-line"> <<span class="pl-ent">alt</span> <span class="pl-e">ref</span>=<span class="pl-s"><span class="pl-pds">"</span>_blvdcir<span class="pl-pds">"</span></span>/></td> </tr> Any ideas would be appreciated. Any clues on how the locator in the example was made? I am also using Esri.ArcGISRuntime.Xamarin.Forms version 100.7.0 in my Visual Studio project. Thanks, Igor

Actually, converting them to interactive tables seemed to do the trick. Thanks! This should make the script work properly once I write it.

Hello, I am writing a Python script to output ArcMap maps to PDFs and I am using the "Graphic Table Element" feature that is part of Production Mapping inside the maps. I notice that when the underlying data changes, the only way to get it to update is to right click on the table in layout view and select "Synchronize Selected Tables". Is there any way to replicate this behavior in Python since I need all of the data to be refreshed before I export the map to PDF. The only reference to synchronize that I found in the API has to do with replicas, and just hitting F5 doesn't refresh the tables. Thanks in advance for any input, Igor
