On matters of national security, certain organizations may request that Esri obscure or redact certain information from our maps, including World Imagery. Within a global map, the methodology and implementation of obscuring information often reflect localized requirements of the regional authorities. In other words, we do our best to accommodate variable and localized requirements when it comes to national security. How, when, and where information is obscured is more a reflection of localized national security requirements than a reflection on the validity and completeness of the information presented in the maps and applications.

Thanks for clarifying. I performed the following steps but was unable to reproduce the issue. Created a web map using the USA NAIP Imagery: Natural Color layer from Living Atlas Created a web mapping application using web app builder. Selected the Launchpad theme and my web map from step 1 When I click the map, this is what I see in the popup: Can you try my test app and see if you see what I see? Also, let me know if there are additional details I may be missing.

Hi, There are two date fields in the table for NAIP. One is a 'date' field type and the other is a string field type. It appears you are pulling in the string field. Can you see if accessing the 'AcquisitionDate' field solves your issue? Date field type: String field type: Best, Rob

Hi Michelle, I am not sure why the default value shown in the scenario you described is from 2018, but if you click the "More" option just below that date, you will get a more complete list. Alternatively, you should just be able to specify a date of your choosing. Please note however, this service only includes the last 14 months of Sentinel-2 imagery. We do not have an API or service. However, the code for the Wayback app can be found here: https://github.com/vannizhang/wayback. The specific function called for producing the "local changes" you noted is here: https://github.com/vannizhang/wayback/blob/master/src/index.js#L1272. Hope this helps!

There is a default definition query on the layer which, as described, shows the most recent and most cloud free imagery available. You can remove the definition query in order to access the full 14 month rolling archive. In Pro: Right click on the Sentinel-2 Views layer and select properties From the properties dialogue select Definition Query Click on the red 'X' to remove Definition Query 1 and then click OK.

Wayback provides access to each version of the World Imagery map published since 2014. While designed to enable users to step backward through the World Imagery timeline, Wayback has recently taken a significant step forward. Wayback is officially out of beta and now includes World Imagery metadata. As of December 14, 2018, Wayback includes 89 versions of World Imagery, with metadata now available for each. What is World Imagery Metadata? Simply put, metadata is “data that provides information about other data”, or “data about data”. Accordingly, World Imagery metadata provides detailed information and metrics (data) about the input imagery sources (data) that comprise the World Imagery map. Sometimes a visual inspection of the imagery is all a user needs to select one image source over another. In other cases, a user may need additional information about the individual images that have been compiled, measured, and blended together during the creation and curation of the World Imagery map. The individual images in the map may vary by capture date, available level of detail, and/or how the features (roads, buildings, etc.) are represented with respect to their true location on the ground. The metadata exposes this type of information to support more informed decision making. It is worth noting that two distinct dates are now presented in Wayback, ‘map publication’ dates and ‘image capture’ dates. As before, Wayback layers have the map publication date embedded in the name. This is the date when a particular version of the World Imagery map was updated and published. The publication date applies collectively to all of the imagery included in a version of the map, but does not indicate the actual vintage of individual images within the map. The age of a particular image can now be determined with the capture date provided in the metadata popup window, displayed when a user points and clicks on a location in the map. Discovery The Wayback app was already a great tool for exploration and discovery of Wayback imagery. With the seamless integration of the metadata, we can easily access all of this additional information about the imagery. Try this: 1) Open the Wayback App 2) Click on the map. Voila, a great looking popup with detailed information about the imagery. When executing the “export to web map” functionality, the selected image layers, AND the associated metadata layers, are saved to the custom web map. Outside the app, all of the Wayback metadata is available as individual ArcGIS Online layer items for use in Online, Pro, and custom applications. Search ArcGIS Online from Pro or the Online Map Viewer. Browse or search the Wayback Imagery group, where you can find each Wayback imagery item along with its associated Wayback metadata item. Hi Steve, There is a definition query controlling what default image dates will be available for any given area. This is designed to show the most recent and most cloud free imagery. This default query can be removed and you can apply your own query. I just did a quick test over your location. If I remove the default query and then apply a query for images acquired between 10/29/2018 and 11/20/2018, I get 7 images returned. One of which was acquired on 11/09/2018 (20181109T191222_10TEP_0). Hopefully removing the default query and applying your own will resolve things for you. Regards, Robert

Hi Sarah, Based on what you described, removing the default definition query and sorting the images, it doesn't sound as though there is user error involved. Our Sentinel-2 imagery is sourced from the Sentinel-2 Registry of Open Data on AWS. There is about a one-day lag from the time the imagery is available there to the time it will be available in our service. Unfortunately, we do not have control over the time from image collection to the time of availability on AWS. The Sentinel-2 data on AWS is managed by Sinergise. Regards, Robert

If I understand correctly, you want to select the different vintages of NAIP NDVI over a particular area or point of interest, and then display the images for visual comparison. Here are a few quick steps to accomplish this in Pro (for a specific point of interest): Load the NAIP imagery layer from the Living Atlas Use the Explore (identify) tool to get the ‘Quandrant Key’ for the target location Use Select by Attributes (‘QKey’) to select all available images for the ‘Quadrant Key’ identified Add the selected images as layers: Data-> Operations->Add to Map Toggle or swipe between images to visually detect any changes NOTE: You can also explore and compare other visual renderings of each image under Data->Processing Templates. Hopefully this will give you the results you are expecting. If your desire is to select the entire state of Louisiana, you could do so using the ‘State’ attribute. However, please note that this will select and load a very large number of images. The steps listed above assume some working knowledge of Pro. Let me know if you need more details, if you run into issues, or if you were looking for something else altogether.

No, it is not. Below is the same imagery from World Imagery (Clarity) basemap. World Imagery (Clarity) does contain the 0.3m imagery that was previously in World Imagery. In the original question posted there was a screenshot from World Imagery and the same location again here from Clarity. There is a distinct difference between the two samples, where the second example, from Clarity, is sharper/more detailed. Please let me know if something else was meant by "same imagery". Can somebody please refer us to a basemap that is verified to have the same (or better) resolution with the old ESRI High Resolution Imagery? World Imagery (Clarity) basemap contains the old high resolution (Bing) aerial imagery for the CONUS that is no longer available in World Imagery.

We do have 0.3m imagery coverage in the Continental US (some comes from DigitalGlobe and some comes from our Community Maps Program). The 0.3m Bing Aerial imagery that covered the entire CONUS (which I think is what you are looking for) is no longer available in the World Imagery basemap due to it's age. However, it is still available through the World Imagery (Clarity) basemap. As an example of our Community Maps Imagery, we have recently published 20 counties in New York with 0.3m or better aerial imagery.
