Nobody has replied so maybe my description wasn't good. Here is another attempt in hopes that maybe someone will have the solution. Say I survey people in Survey123 about what kind of cheeses they like and I group them into soft and hard cheeses. I want the dashboard to show a bar chart of counts with the 3 most popular cheeses (in descending order) color coded by hard/soft as seen in the screenshot below (created in excel). I used to be able to do this, but sometime after April 2024 I no longer can. Does anybody know how I can do this? Thank you and sorry if my initial description was too confusing.

Hello, At some point this summer the serial chart in a dashboard I created has changed from when I built the dashboard. The Serial chart should display the "Top 12 Damage Agents" (out of a couple hundred) in orange if they are a disease, or blue if an insect according to the "Damage Agent Category" (see the image "good dashboard" below). In Data Options I used Grouped values, Category field is Damage Causing Agent, and I split by field "Damage Agent Category" used statistic=count and used 12 as the maximum categories sorted by statistic. However, now the maximum categories is missing (so it shows the entire list, not just the 12 with the highest count) and I can no longer sort by count in descending order. They are just all listed alphabetically in a much to long list (see image "bad dashboard" and "Serial chart data options" below). Can anybody recommend a way to achieve the desired result? Thank you! Lori

Hello, I have a survey (entitled R10_FHP_GDS) from which a webmap and dashboard are available to all of our group members. For public consumption have the same products available but used the automatically created "stakeholder" view. By design, several fields (for example, Creator, CreationDate and many others) are not visible in that public layer. However, when my team members log in to the S123 website it is pointing to that stakeholder view instead of the source layer. Evidenced by 1) the lack of the Creator field (and all the other fields) I excluded from public view, and 2) the map brought up from the "Open in Map Viewer" on the S123 website. On that map, it is labeled R10_FHP_GDS but the layer says it is the stakeholder view. When I am logged in as the administrator none of this happens and I see the full source dataset. My question is how do I change that surveys' dataset back to the source layer and NOT pointing to the stakeholder view. Thanks, Lori

Hi James, this solution didn't work for me and the original solution no longer works either. When I use the Disable Editor Tracking tool in ArcGIS Pro and browse to the hosted feature layer on AGOL, I can find the feature layer and click on it, but it says the container is empty and nothing fills the Name field. Thanks for your help, Loretta

We do too! I really think ESRI needs to get on top of this because the US Forest Service (or some parts of it) is really pushing Field Maps and it just won't do the job that we need.

Hello, There seems to be a persistent rumor that Survey123 is being retired and FieldMaps will replace it, in addition to Collector etc. This rumor is especially prevalent within the US Forest Service and they are telling us to stop using Survey123!! The most recent reply to this rumor I have found is this one https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-survey123-questions/survey123-migrating-to-field-maps-and-unsupported/td-p/1033994. @JamesTedrick, @IsmaelChivite Could you please address this yet again? I think we are in dire need something more recent. Thanks! Lori

Hi Doug, That doesn't work. It does show the label/alias for all other fields, but apparently it is a known limitation of cascading selects. But thanks for trying! Lori

Hello, I have not seen a workaround for this problem, therefore I am trying to create my own. Here is the schema. I have a select_one choice list (dca_category) that is used as a cascading select for another select_one question (dca). Because the name field is displayed in a dashboard I created, I have used the pulldata calculation to return the more informative label into another field (dca_label). However, I have over 5000 previous records that I need to go back and populate the dca_label field. I imagine I can use the Field Calculator in ArcGIS Pro to do this, but what is the syntax? Can anyone help or provide a better solution? Thanks, Lori

Hello, I made a survey, webmap, and operations dashboard of our team's data. We wanted to be able to share that with our stakeholders on the web. However, our organization requires me to give ownership to our GIS administrators in order to make things available to the public. I did not want to lose access to all our data and so they made copies and then took over ownership. Unfortunately that required the copied dashboard to be rebuilt. That is unfortunate but not a deal breaker. We have two existing problems we help with. 1) The photos taken within each survey record did not copy over. eg. if you click on a point one or more photos should be at the bottom of the popup. Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS 2) Since it is a copy, new records no longer populate the dashboard. Is there a way to populate two feature layers? I tried to build it on the _stakeholder version, but that too required the parent feature to be "changed ownership". Thanks! Lori

Hi Wright, Brandon Armstrong answered this for me some time ago on a different thread. Here is what he worked out Hi Lori, After speaking with you over the phone and then doing some additional testing, we found the following workflow to successfully append the data from your exported file geodatabase to the existing feature layer referenced by your survey while maintaining the Editor Tracking information. These steps start after data from all previous surveys have been exported to file geodatabase format using ArcGIS Online... 1. Login to ArcGIS Online or your portal in ArcGIS Enterprise and select 'Content' from the top panel of choices 2. Select the survey folder which contains the feature layer and form of the survey which you will be appending data to 3. Select the feature layer within the folder > Settings > disable 'Keep track of who created and last updated features' > Save 4. Open ArcGIS Pro 5. Add the previously downloaded file geodatabase data and any table containing attachments to the Current Map IMPORTANT: Instead of using Field Mapping in the Append gp tool options, ensure that the source field(s) have the same name as the target field they will be appended too. For instance, if Field_1 of the source dataset (file geodatabase feature class) will be going to Field_2 of source dataset (feature service), rename Field_1 within feature class, to Field_2 prior to proceeding. 6. Run the Disable Editor Tracking geoprocessing tool against your File Geodatabase data. 7. From the Contents pane—Right-click the feature class from your downloaded dataset > Design > Fields. 8. Check 'Read-Only' for all editor tracking fields (CreationDate, Creator, EditDate, Editor) > Save 9. Run the Append geoprocessing tool with your file geodatabase dataset as the input and the feature layer as the target 10. Login to ArcGIS Online and navigate to feature layer to ensure that all editor tracking information from file geodatabase has been preserved 11. Re-enable the option to 'Keep track of who created and last updated features' from the Settings of the feature layer > Save The editor tracking information from the appended data should now reflect it's original information and any new records will record the appropriate editor tracking information at time of collection.

Hi Brandon, Thanks for your reply. I followed your instructions faithfully. Unfortunately this did not work. Now all the values are blank for the fields Creator, CreationDate, Editor, EditDate, instead of filling them with my userid and todays date. Therefore it did not preserve the original values. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Hello James, Yesterday I asked nearly the same question. I am doing this in Pro with Append, but the original Creator and CreationDate entries are unfortunately not preserved. Instead they ALL update to my username and today's date. How can I fix this issue?? As Stephen said, PLEASE HELP! and THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!
