Can somebody help? Let's say I have a line that goes across a United States polygon layer. Is there a tool that can clip/split the line whenever it crosses a state boundary? Ex. If a line goes from Colorado through Utah, Nevada, and California-- the result would be 4 segments. The Split "modify features" tool is too manual as I have thousands of lines to edit and the Clip tool only works if I'm going inside and outside of a polygon. Am I missing something? Thanks.

All, I found a workaround. I used the Feature Class to Feature Class tool to export an intermediate file of the data. The tool has a built in Field Map, just like what you see in Append. From there I was able to alter the field name (right click & rename) and export the file, before I proceeded to Append in my Task using matching field names.

Yes it does. Though I'm not trying to change field type.

Right. But I'm not trying to alter the Field Nullability. ArcGIS thinks I am because by default the New Field is Nullable box is unchecked -- and my feature class does allow null values. But like illustrated in my post, that parameter disappears when loading the tool so I can't change it.

I am using Alter Field in a Task to change a field name so I can prepare a layer to append properly. The Alter Field fails because Error001625: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/tool-errors-and-warnings/001001-010000/tool-errors-and-warnings-01626-01650-001625.htm - can't alter field nullability. I'm not trying to alter field nullability, but I don't have the option to change that. I closed and reopened Alter Field several times and saw that below, for the first 1-2 seconds the window appears as on the left. Then the New Field is Nullable and New Field Type parameters disappear. Does anyone else have this issue? After

Here is a Project Area that I am working with: Here is what my model currently looks like: My model gathers data from the line and the points and appends them into a new polygon feature class. I have two spatial joins to populate two fields in this polygon feature class. One is STRRange, which is to capture all the points that intersect with the polygon, and the other is StrApprox, which is to capture the nearest point if there are no intersections with the polygon. I've been running this model in 2.4.2, works perfectly. However, in 2.6 and 2.7 the StrApprox does not populate like it should, if it does not have a STRRange value, it returns blank. The left table is an example of how it's supposed to look like. Why is this happening?

Hello all, I am trying to publish a tool I created in ModelBuilder. I've run it successfully in ArcPro, the Analyze section under the Sharing Pane gives me no warnings or errors, and I get a job status update saying I have successfully published. However, when I try opening the tool in Map Viewer, the dropdown is completely blank. When I go to the REST services page and click on my tool, it shows that I have no tasks associated with it. Can anyone help as to why my model is publishing with no associated tasks? This is the second tool I've published (and from the same project), but the first had no problem with this. Tools Model Uses: Select Layer by Attribute, Append, Calculate Field, Summary Statistics, Join/Remove Join, and Delete Rows. One Parameter for the selection. Thanks for any help. Dana

So I'm working on a web application in Portal. The webmap that it's connected to has multiple feature classes and multiple related tables added to them. I've received a request to alphabetize the feature classes and related tables so that when the attribute table widget is used, the user can easily find his/her layer of interest. I can alphabetize the feature classes easily by clicking & dragging. I can't seem to touch the related tables, either in the map or the app's attribute table widget. The only way I could possibly work around this is deleting everything and adding the feature layers in reverse-alphabetical order (and then reconfiguring all pop-ups, symbology etc) but even then if the feature layer has more than one table, I cannot seem to work around it if those are manifested in incorrect order. Anyone have any input or suggestions?

One little but rather annoying inconvenience is when I do a brief edit on a layer, usually something small like changing a value, and then sometime later I go into Fields View to add or format a field or even add a domain...only to see the save button grayed out and a warning that I'll lose all my unsaved changes if I exit. So to activate the Fields-View save button I'll have to save edits under the Edit Tab, which practically means I have to exit Fields View and lose my changes, save, and start all over. Why not a prompt to warn me to save my edits before I go into Fields View in the first place?
