I feel your frustration frothing from the post as I read. This gets so ridiculous I just give up entirely on Pro and won't use it for a long time. Then, when I come back to it, I am reminded and disappointed once more of its deficiencies. Where's Mr. Dangermond in all of this? Does he realize what is going on?

Kevin, I can only tell you this much: We're on a network environment as our company is spread out in different parts of the U.S. License server is in another city. Running on Windows 10 Enterprise Edition Lenovo P910 Processor Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2687W v4 @ 3.00GHz, 3001 Mhz, 12 Core(s), 24 Logical Processor(s) 128 GB RAM ArcGIS Pro version 2.4.0 I speculate the issue may have something to do with the networking environment. Yet, ArcMap does just dandy in this same environment. The design has nothing to do with my frustration. I like it! From the many posts I've seen in this thread and in others (See Why does ArcGIS Pro have to be so slow??? ), the major issue seems to be related to network environments. If ArcMap can do just fine in my network, why can't Pro? Antiquated beats new right now in our shop.

Simply put, ArcGIS Pro is frustrating. I can accomplish tasks faster with ArcMap.

I am using the same raster as under Input rasters. In other words, the same raster I am sampling is also the input location raster. I use Bilinear resampling. Plus, on the Environments menu I set the extents to a rectangle shapefile that is about one fourth the area of the raster extents.

Kory, Trying to finally circle back to you on this. Sorry it's taken so long. I want to ask, did you you sample the arcgrid to a points fc? That's not really what I was doing. I was just simply outputting a dbf table with xyz values from the arcgrid using the Sample tool under Spatial Analyis > Extraction. Essentially this outputs the xyz values for each of the cells in an arcgrid.

Wow! And to think, they will keep peddling Pro at the ESRI User Conference as if it was the best thing ever. I laugh at them the last time I attended UC when they smiled and smirked about its 64 bit capability. No, Mr. Dangermond! It's a useless product! Maybe we need a quiet revolt at the UC and say enough is enough; challenge the presenters and developers on its lack of performance! ESRI, please take back Pro and keep ArcMap!

Yup! Can't stand Pro and is one reason I didn't go to the ESRI User Conference last year. I can't stand that they use ArcPro and push it as if it were the greatest thing ever. IT'S NOT! It's is slow! Riddle me this: when I use the Spatial Analyst > Sample tool in ArcMap I can process a 52 x 32 mile raster grid that is 200 ft x 200 ft coarse in less than 5 minutes. I'm doing the same in Pro at the moment as of this post and it's taking over 25 minutes now and counting! It is too bad they don't have a competitor out in the GIS world that would give them pause to even release a crappy product. Shame on you ESRI.
