I think the inclusion of the ESRI Weather font within the API is under consideration for future releases. On Fri, Apr 26, 2019 at 8:01 AM Archana Venkataraman <geonet@esri.com>

I was able to get it to work by hosting the ESRI Weather font (in its various font formats) locally and then include via CSS. The main reason I have been looking to have it included within the ESRI JavaScript API is because our work computers prevent browsers from loading local font files.

Hi Robert, Thanks for the assistance, but I thought the fonts had to be converted to PBF format...not PFB? Are they the same thing? I have to admit...I am not very familiar with font formats. Thanks, Chad

Thanks for the response! I guess my primary obstacle is trying to figure how to convert a local font file to pbf format. Also, after trying the esriConfig.fontsURL property, it appears that it is all or nothing? You cannot host one font locally and then load the rest from the ESRI API...is that correct? Thanks for your assistance! Chad

Prior to the newest release of the ESRI JavaScript API 4.10, I have been able to include the ESRI Weather font to my page through CSS via the following code: @font-face { font-family: "ESRI Weather"; src: url("ESRIWeather.eot"); src: url("ESRIWeather.eot?#iefix") format("embedded-opentype"), url("ESRIWeather.woff") format("woff"), url("ESRIWeather.ttf") format("truetype"), url("ESRIWeather.svg#svgESRIWeather") format("svg"); font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; } That does not appear to work anymore with 4.10 and the documentation is a little confusing about how to add a local font. Has anyone been able to successfully include a local font with a page that utilizes version 4.10 of the API....or do you know the path of how I could include the ESRI Weather Font from ESRI? Thanks for any insights that someone may have!

With the Leaflet API there is the L.divIcon that allows you to utilize an HTML DIV as the marker icon/symbol. Is there a similar functionality with the ArcGIS JS 4.6 API? We are trying to make the transition from Leaflet to ArcGIS JS. The marker icon contains a combination of custom fonts (symbol & text) to generate a weather station plot (see image below). The following HTML string is built for each marker icon and styled with CSS. stnPlot = "<div style='position:absolute;width:80px;height:80px;'>"; stnPlot += " <div class='temp'>" + temp + "</div>"; stnPlot += " <div class='dew'>" + td + "</div>"; stnPlot += " <div class='rh'>" + rh + "</div>"; stnPlot += " <div class='gust'>" + Math.round(gust) + "</div>"; stnPlot += " <div class='slp'>" + Math.round(gust) + "</div>"; stnPlot += " <div class='windbarb-container'>"; stnPlot += " <div class='windbarb' style='top:" + top + "px;left:" + left + "px;transform:rotate(" + dir + "deg);font-weight:bold;'>" + windStr + "</div>"; stnPlot += " </div>"; stnPlot += " <div class='wx-center'>+</div>"; stnPlot += "</div>"; return stnPlot; The above HTML generates the icon below. Perhaps the ArcGIS JS 4.6 API can replicate this functionality and I just missed it. I would appreciate if someone could point me toward a particular Marker or Symbol layer that could do this. Appreciate an insights someone may have!

Thank you all for the feedback! I probably should have been more specific. I have utilized the MapImageLayer functionality in 3.x for overlaying a local georeferenced image with success, but I noticed that same functionality doesn't exist yet in 4.x. According to the ESRI functionality matrix the 3.x MapImageLayer has not been implemented in 4.x, since the 4.x MapImageLayer actually is a conversion of the 3.x ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer. So I guess the main question that I was asking if anyone had figured out a workaround to achieve the 3.x MapImageLayer functionality utilizing the 4.x version of the API. Perhaps I just need to be patient for the next release! Thanks again!

With ArcGIS Javascript v3.x you could use a combination of MapImage and MapImageLayer to overlay a georeferenced image on the map. It appears that the MapImageLayer functionality has changed in the 4.6 Javascript API, so is there a workaround available for georeferenced images until the old v3.x functionality of the MapImageLayer is implemented? Thanks!
